There was a pretty garden outside of our room, and a warm and comfortable sitting area upstairs. The breakfast was good and varied and the staff was friendly and helpful. Once we got used to the elevation it wasn’t too tiring walking up the hill from the Plaza de Armas.

Nice people, few shortcomings

Not far from center, but quiet. Located up the hill- so you've to be fit or take a cab.
Rooms are quite simple but o.k. Inner rooms lack privacy.
Breakfast is average at the most.
Service is sometimes slow.

Good Location, Helpful Staff

Just 3 or 4 blocks from the Plaza de Armas, El Cumbe was a pleasant refuge and welcoming home during our four days in Cajamarca. We enjoyed the breakfasts and received good guidance and assistance planning our excursions to Cumbe Mayo and the Inka Baths.
