DON'T DO IT

First off, the location is terrible it was so loud we might as well have slept on the floor of a Latin club. I even paid for an upgrade and they insisted it was quieter but it wasn't remotely. Then at checkout they kept insisting my mother ,who had already walked by and got in our car, was going to stay in the room. They check the room 3 times because they thought she was in the room. Took me 20mins for them to check my room to tell me my mother wasn't in it. Wouldn't let me leave until I did. Honestly this was one of the most embarrassing hotel books I have ever made.

Terrible location for a hotel

This hotel makes an effort to be a decent place, but there is absolutely nothing the hotel can do about its terrible location. There are noisy nightclubs and bars all around the hotel, and there often is loud music blaring most of the night, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. The internet access was nonexistent during my entire stay there because the infrastructure in the neighborhood is in very bad shape. The electricity went out twice during my stay, once for more than ten hours. The hotel is a 20-30 minute drive from the airport, which is one of the few things working in its favor. (A trip from Miraflores to the airport can easily take two hours because the traffic in Lima is terrible.) Although the employees at the hotel were kind, I agree that they tend to shrug off problems, perhaps because many of the problems simply are not cable of solution, given the hotel's unfortunate location. It seems the employees have decided to accept the terrible fate of this hotel, which was probably pretty nice thirty years ago. Unfortunately, I could never recommend this hotel to anyone I considered a friend.

Noisy, bad customer service and pointless policies.

The hotel and the room are very nice looking. But the location of the hotel is the worst. You can hear the noise from the clubs inside your room. You basically cannot sleep and the noise starts at 7 pm until 7 am, not even exaggerating. The worst experience I have had in a hotel. I only stood there because the room I took had A/C. The ladies at the front desk do not know how to solve problems. They did not let my guest come into my room. Since I booked a room for 1 then I was the only one allowed into my room. I have never seen a hotel with such stupid policy. After complaining they would let my friend come into my room for 15 minutes once in the day. But only one friend. I was in town visiting family and friends and no one could go up to the room with me. We had to sit by the cafeteria. They do not let you enter food or drinks into the room either, as if a bottle of water was a big deal. I would never, ever stay there again, not even if they pay me!

Disgustingly deceptive trip advisor!!

Wow! In all of my travels I have never felt so deceived!! Shame on you trip advisor! This hotel is in the seediest of areas! Next to a strip club and we saw a prostitute hanging naked out of a window throwing money to her pimp! The area is unsafe and loud music blares into the room all night! It claims to be close to the airport and I chose it because of that our flight leaves very early in the morning and I would have stayed in Milaflores if I had known how far away this hotel actually was from the airport! The taxi driver even asked us WHY would we stay here!!! after arriving I do not believe these reviews to be accurate or valid! I think they were made up by the hotel. The receptionist was rude and the general feeling of young men wandering the halls and yelling all night made me feel unsafe! DO NOT STAY HERE! you will see from my other reviews I never write complaints like this !!!! Avoid this place at all costs!

Good place to stay

We Stayed at Ginebra Hotel for 2 nights. The hotel had beautiful rooms, everything was clean and the people at the reception were kind and hepful. The only thing that I didnt like that much is the ubication, Los Olivos is not really secure and it was a lot of noise at night, we could sleep and everything but just for you to take a note about it.
