Exceptional stay at Governor's Residence in Kigali.
Our stay at Governor's Residence in Kigali was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff demonstrated outstanding professionalism, warmth and attention to detail that made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued.
The service was impeccable throughout our stay. Every team member was friendly, courteous, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure comfort and satisfaction. Their personalized approach created an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and homely. In particular we would like to mention Edson and Gloria for the impeccable service throughout. Gloria even upgraded us to the best room in the hotel!!
Cleanliness deserves special recognition. The rooms and common areas were spotless, well-maintained, and beautifully presented. Housekeeping consistently delivered a high standard of care, making the entire property feel fresh, comfortable, and inviting.
The food was another highlight. Every breakfast was very well prepared and the menu offered a wonderful variety of delicious options, with fresh and carefully selected ingredients. It provided a perfect start to each day.
The location is ideal for both business and leisure travellers, offering convenient access to key areas of Kigali while maintaining a peaceful and relaxing environment. The property itself is elegant, secure, and thoughtfully designed, making it a wonderful place to unwind after a busy day.

Amazing stay to start our trip.
Beautiful property and amazing staff. Jane was a fantastic hostess. The restaurant was delicious. The view amazing. Lounges, libraries, tennis court, basketball court, swimming pool along with natural foliage atrracting many pretty birds. If I had to complain, the bath towels were a bit rough. We will stay here again.

Rock Hard bed Made for Tough Night.
Spent one night in this boutique hotel. We were offered an upgraded extremely large room. While that was very kind, the room was not that great. Most importantly the bed was hard as a rock. Almost impossible to get a good night’s sleep.
The food at the hotel was very good and the service was good as well. Nothing terribly wrong with this place (except the bed) but just not that memorable.

Sorry that you didn't feel comfortable. Usually the mattress toppers we use should make the upper level of the mattress soft enough for a comfortable sleep while keeping the rest of the mattress firm.

I’ve rarely stayed at a hotel that radiates so much warmth, style, and genuine hospitality as the Governor’s Residence. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a smile and immediately felt welcome. The entire team is incredibly kind, attentive, and professional – you can tell they truly care about what they do.
The property itself is beautiful: tastefully designed, quietly located, and surrounded by lush gardens. My room was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed – from the comfortable bed and the lovely terrace to the quality amenities provided.
One of my favorite moments was breakfast on the veranda overlooking the greenery – everything was fresh, delicious, and served with such care. Dinner was equally enjoyable, and relaxing by the pool after a day in the city was the perfect way to unwind.
The Governor’s Residence is more than just a boutique hotel – it feels like a true home away from home. I wholeheartedly recommend this special place and am already looking forward to coming back.

Clean, comfortable and quiet!
This is a wonderful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Kigali. It is very private and the rooms are comfortable. The staff is warm and committed to meeting all of your needs. It’s a great spot to stay if you are tired after a long international flight and need rest before headed out on a safari! I highly recommend it.
