Cheap Hostel in Belgrade City-Center

This Hostel is in vicinity to the Place of the Republic.
We reserved a two-bed dorm.
The accomodation is plain, but for our needs sufficient.
The Bath Room was clean and the showed were good.
We were supposed to get a breakfast, but we didn't get anything.
Anyway: There are a lot of oppurtunities to grab a solid breakfast outside (a lot of Cafes, Bakeries...).
Unfavorable is that you could hear everything through the walls, to emphasize the stomping and chatterings of some other guests.
Sometimes the reception was abonded.
As a cheap option a recommendation here!

Not a luxury stay by any means, but could have been worse.

I think most people know what they're getting into when they book a place like this. It's a slightly nasty hostel with private rooms, although not totally terrible. I originally booked a room with a private bathroom however was told a few weeks prior to my stay that there was a problem with the room and I had to be downgraded to a room with a shared bathroom. The room itself is dingy, but still relatively comfortable. The bathrooms are okay but small bugs are a common sight, both in the bathrooms and the rooms. The room I stayed in had an air conditioner however it didn't work.

Aggressive Staff

Some of the staff were extremely rude, unhelpful and even threatening. We booked this place because the advert says it had a shared kitchenette, but this was a lie and it did not.
The staff is not there most of the time, which makes check-in and checkout very difficult and long.
We agreed to store our luggage with one member of staff when we checked out of our room, but when we came to collect our bags a different member of staff got very aggressive with us and told us we weren't allowed to be there anymore, and they even threatened to call the police if we didn't leave immediately.
When I left this exact review on booking.com, the owner replied to it with a bunch of lies (I guess to try to discredit my bad review). To be clear, we did absolutely nothing wrong, and were treated awfully.

I wish I could write a good review.

Toilet and bathrooms are in common area. When you take a shower, you can find people right in the face. It’s not a place to go with family and girlfriends, and when we asked why, they said we couldn’t answer.

Great location

Clean rooms recently renovated still areas being done out the back but this didn’t bother me just wanted a nice clean room and bed to come back after a long day exploring the city, the shower and bathroom was lovely. The position of the hostel is great for getting to all the tourist areas of Belgrade, restaurants in abundance within 2 mins from hostel, so much so I never bothered with the breakfast I ate in the restaurants round the corner bit more filling than the roll juice provided, and it’s so cheap to eat out anyway, toasted cheese hame sandwich and coffee about £3 gbp or large cooked breakfast eggs etc for £4 gbp the hostel arranged a taxi back to airport for about £12 although the bus is a 10 minutes walk and only a couple of pounds, but taxi you get to spend more time in this lovely city. The hostel hasn’t really got any facilities but after saying that for a hostel it’s great, I did have the private bathroom and glad I did. All the shops and the main shopping centre is literally round the corner, so is all the other old town attraction and river Danube and Sava are a great place to walk to from here 25/30 mins steady stroll
