Perfect for a weekend on the snow!

We stayed at the Roca on a road trip to Masella snow destination & it worked perfectly.
Just a couple of hours drive from Barcelona through beautiful scenario we stayed for a couple of nights with friends & enjoyed 2 days on the snow. The mountain here at Masella is lovely and peaceful, full of locals who do not speak much English, but we really liked that about it!
Even though we did not speak any English the hotel were brilliant with us and we overcame the language barrier in the end. The rooms are really cosy with gorgeous views of the town and the mountains...oh, and the food is absolutely delicious!

Very disappointed with the welcome

Tour out of tourist season. Unsmiling staff, given the Impression that bothers. Very light breakfast with dry bread, 4 old croissants from the day before or even older, packed cakes, two bananas. There were four of us.

LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM

My comment is a bit of disappointment and at the same time sadness to see how the management of a hotel has changed that brought back very good memories when the owners were Carmen and her husband (a great cook). It was a hotel with a lot of life, a very good restaurant and excellent treatment from the workers. Currently it only works for sleeping and breakfast. The facilities are the same as always (I did not see the reform anywhere and they have even lost without the restaurant service although on their website it continues to appear as if they have it. Cleaning and correct breakfast but expensive quality/price. Our experience was rather bad. Only There are two workers in a hotel with 30 rooms (we went up on a Tuesday, only 2 of the 30 were occupied) One of them older, the other not so much. Paid parking (could be included in the price but oh well). We parked in front of the door and I went to the reception to ask if they could please open it for us and then we would check in... we were not going to run away without paying. The older man already answered me badly. First the check in. I told him that I was in the middle, that It didn't matter... first the check in. I went to look for my husband, leaving the car in the middle for the ID... not happy with this, while I entered the computer I was saying that people from Barcelona are always in a hurry, that if I was going to run a rally. I kept quiet so as not to make a mess. He gave us the card and we were able to park. No information about breakfast hours, time to leave the room, etc. When we went down, the girl was already there (she attended to those in the other room). When they left, I told him that his companion had not informed us of anything, that he had gotten into an attack. The immediate response was that we were not the first from “Barcelona” who were in a hurry. I had to ask him everything, he answered just... even later (and we heard it from the other couple) we learned that they closed the main door and entered through another. At 9 p.m. my husband asked him if they closed reception and he said yes... the professionalism of this pair of people is evident. I have been in the town for many years, I have good friends but since the boom there is excessive hatred towards those of us from Barcelona who are the ones who use the hotels and go to restaurants. It's already tiring isn't it? Sometimes I go to a hotel due to occupancy issues in the family home, but I will not return to this one, I do not recommend it at all, there are better and friendlier ones in the same town and nearby towns. To make matters worse, the older person had to check us out and he charged us again for the room because the reservation was virtual according to him (booking) and he had to charge it. My husband did not argue and preferred to pay it and then claim it. Well, we tried to explain to him that they had already charged us but he was on his side. Of course the girl returned it to us in the afternoon. You can't work worse and that anger against those from Barcelona will take its toll on them in the long run.

Very good location
