DONT STAY HERE - AWFUL
1. they took the booking.com fee 2 weeks ago when we had the right to cancel up to one day before arrival
2. the rooms are incredibly noisy - it should be illegal to charge for them. the room we were given was right outside the breakfast room... from 6am all you hear is people eating their breakfast and talking and we have not had one night of proper sleep. when we asked to change rooms the owner said we were being too sensitive!!!!
3. we were refused to change rooms which means we have to stay another 2 nights here, and the owner has been totally unhelpful. she can only be contacted by phone, and the house keeper doesnt speak english.
4. dont stay here.

Lovely oasis in Barcelona
- The building itself is gorgeous old apartment block from late 1800 or early 1900's. The buildings character is still very much there, therefor expect the lift to be a bit small compared to modern lifts.
- The whole b&b was very tidy, only little things were something to do with the building itself being so old.
- Rooms have no tv's, so in our case this was a very welcomed break from goggle box. ;)
- No fridges, in case you are planning a picnic in your own room.
- Location is away from the most busy and touristy areas, metro will take you to Placa de Catalunya station in less than 10 minutes, which is really handy. Trains are incredibly neat and tidy!
- Walking distance from places such as Park Guell.
- Best tapas: Hidalgo restaurant across the road!
Our room was on top floor, with direct access to the rooftop terrace - views are amazing! Mt Tibidabo and the hills on the other side and with little bit of neck stretching you can see the Barcelona coast line, Sagrada Familia's turret's rising above rooftops and Montjuic + castle. Room had a private bathroom that was used via corridors, so it's not en-suite - this didn't bother us, since on the top floor there is only one other room and we saw the other residents only by few glances. Other words, this place offer privacy even with shared facilities.
Service is to be expected to be mostly in spanish or catalan - we spoke neither, but still everything went perfect. The staff look after you very well and breakfast has plenty to offer. We felt very much pampered and well looked after. Thank you for that! :)
We will be back in Barcelona and more than likely will come back to Casa Con Estilo. <3

Beautiful Place BUT DO NOT BOOK THE TWO ROOMS THAT SHARE A BATHROOM
I would definitely stay here again in one of the rooms on the top floor which are large, light filled and very very attractive.
Pluses:
- housekeepers lovely and helpful
- 10 minutes from the centre of Barcelona by metro, very short walk to station
- lovely range of breakfast offered although the "hot" water was simply warm
- free WIFI
- balcony for sunbathing or breakfasting
- character property
- clean and well maintained
- supermarket close by and some bars and restaurants
Negatives
- quite noisy if you are on the lower floor
- no TV
- only one electric socket per room
- no way to make a hot drink
- not a place to go if you have mobility issues - metro is accessed by lots and lots of stairs

A wonderful city break!
Casa Con Estilo is in a very nice part of the city with a few bars and restaurants close by. If you like to walk Park Guell and Sagrada Familiar are a pleasant walk away. The Guest house is very well located for the Metro and you can always find very affordable taxis outside.
We hope to be able to return one day.
