Perfect Mallorca Holiday at Zafiro Can Picafort!
Hotel response
It was a pleasure to receive your kind feedback.
We are delighted that your family holiday in Mallorca was such a wonderful experience.
It is lovely to hear that you felt warmly welcomed even though you arrived late, and that the hotel made a great impression both at night and during the day. We are glad your son got stuck into all the sports and games, from water polo to volleyball, and that the whole family enjoyed the evening entertainment, including the Kahoot quizzes, the flamenco show, and the tribute acts.
Your tip about booking ahead at the local restaurants is a helpful one, and we are pleased you discovered some favourites nearby. It sounds like you made the most of the area too, with the kayak hire, the karting trip, and the bus ride to Alcudia. The beach and the shops just down the hill really do add something special to a stay here.
We look forward to seeing you again on a future trip.
Kind regards,
Maria Fornari

Fantastic family holiday

We appreciate you letting us know about your recent visit.
We are thrilled that your family holiday was fantastic from start to finish.
It is lovely to hear that our team made such a positive impression with their attentive service across the hotel. Knowing your 4 and 8 year old had plenty to keep them entertained also means a great deal to us.
That said, we are sorry you had to deal with mosquitoes during your stay. Can Picafort can indeed have them at certain times of the year, and we always suggest guests come prepared with repellent.
Nonetheless, we are so pleased you enjoyed the food and found it great throughout your week with us. Your recommendation to others is the highest compliment we could ask for.
We look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.
Best wishes,
Maria Fornari

Good hotel, but not if you're vegetarian.
The hotel maps on site and online are a bit out of date, as things have moved around a bit, for instance the kids club is now near the front of the hotel and the shop has moved to behind the kids pool where the kids club used to be.
Over all staff are always friendly and helpful.
Would be amazing if the pools werent so cold as we wanted a holiday where the kids would be in and out the pool all day. Would also help if had more snack/small lunch items available instead of just sit down meals.

A fabulous hotel for families, but could do with a few updates
Positives
* Amazing pools for the kids, and as adults, we also loved the variety. No sunbed wars!
* Fabulous entertainment team and great kids club and kids entertainment (for primary aged kids mostly)
* Loved the key wristband and the hotel app to book restaurants and see entertainment schedule
* Very impressed with buffet restaurant food - lots cooked fresh infront of you - and enjoyed the 3 à la cartes
* All staff were really friendly and helpful. Quick table service at the evening entertainment
* Rooms renovated last year so they were modern and comfortable
Negatives
* The pool areas and entertainment area needs refurbishing. Lots of broken tiles etc. A big area would need doing so it’s a big job!!
* Air con in the room wasn’t strong enough. We had two different rooms as upgraded and in both, it was ‘ok’. Main room was good enough but bedroom didn’t get cool (managed to sleep, but with little or no covers )
* Rooms without a pool view overlook wasteland! Our first room had stray cats outside, discarded sunbed cushions (see photo) and lots of trucks going past. We therefore upgraded to a penthouse with hot tub as that was all that was available (worth it but would suggest garden or swim up room if in peak summer. Or pay for pool view at least!)
* We had a hot tub penthouse. Hot tub and rooftop also looked in need of renovation - perhaps not done when the rooms were (parts kept falling off the hot tub)
* The glasses in the buffet were always dirty looking. I know they had been cleaned, but were smeared and looked dirty. The wine glasses were better so I had soft drinks from them
I’ve seen others say the queues for bars were long. I’d agree, probably longer than previous hotels but not too bad. Would be better if there was a soft drink self serve area.
Overall, we had a fabulous week. The pools, entertainment and food were the main things we cared about and it was excellent on those points. The kids want to go back.
A refurb is needed, but I suspect prices would jump up once done! Better aircon and clean glasses would be quicker fixes that would make a big difference.
We still had an amazing week and I’m glad we booked this hotel. I’m keen to try other Zafiro hotels.

Keep expectations low
The hotel itself was nice enough and our room was spacious for a family of four, which was a real plus. The buffet food was generally pretty good, although after 10 nights it did become very repetitive, with very similar options appearing each evening. One thing that really needs improving is the labelling of food — quite often dishes weren’t labelled at all, which made it difficult to know exactly what you were choosing.
The pool area was good, but the cleanliness around the pool could definitely be better. There were also a couple of disappointing experiences with staff, particularly at the pool bar and American restaurant. To be fair, the staff are clearly working incredibly hard, and my biggest criticism would actually be that there simply don’t seem to be enough staff during peak season. This leads to very long queues for drinks, which is frustrating when you’ve paid for an all-inclusive package. Unfortunately, some staff also seemed quite defensive or rude when faced with criticism. That said, the vast majority of staff we encountered were lovely, friendly and doing their absolute best in difficult circumstances.
The evening entertainment was fairly average and there didn’t seem to be enough seating available, so it could be difficult to find somewhere to sit and watch.
Sunbeds were okay for us. I tend to get up early anyway, so I never really had a problem, but from what I saw you could generally still find something until around 9am if you weren’t too fussy about where you were located.
For us, the biggest negative was the location. Personally, we didn’t really like Can Picafort itself and found the beach quite disappointing as it’s relatively small and gets very crowded. I’d definitely recommend getting the bus from outside Aldi and heading to Playa de Muro instead — the beach there is much nicer and well worth the trip.
Overall, Zafiro Can Picafort is a perfectly decent family hotel with spacious rooms, good food and plenty of facilities, but it feels like it struggles during peak season. More staff, better pool-area cleanliness, improved food labelling and a little more variety at the buffet would make a big difference. We had a good holiday overall, but there are definitely areas where the hotel could improve.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed, honest and constructive review following your 10-night stay at Zafiro Can Picafort. We truly appreciate feedback of this nature, as it allows us to understand not only what our guests enjoy, but also those areas where we can continue to improve.
We are pleased to hear that, overall, you had a good holiday and that several aspects of your stay contributed positively to your experience. It is particularly nice to know that you found the room spacious enough for your family of four, and that you generally enjoyed the food and the facilities available at the hotel.
At the same time, we are genuinely sorry that some aspects of your stay caused frustration or fell short of your expectations. We completely understand that, when you are on holiday, things such as waiting for a drink, finding dishes without clear labels, noticing that the pool area could be cleaner or struggling to find a seat during the evening entertainment can have an impact on the overall experience. We certainly do not want these details to detract from the enjoyment of a well-deserved holiday.
We have taken particular note of your comments regarding the buffet. We are pleased that you found the food to be generally good, but we fully understand that after 10 nights, a lack of sufficient variation can become noticeable. Your observation regarding food labelling is also very valid. Clear information about the dishes is important, and we will certainly take your comments into consideration when reviewing this aspect of our service.
We are also sorry to hear that you felt the cleanliness around the pool area could have been better. We understand how important it is for our guests to find the communal areas clean and well maintained, particularly during the summer months when these facilities are being used intensively throughout the day. Your feedback has been noted and will be shared with the relevant team.
We are especially sorry about the particular experiences you had with some members of our team at the pool bar and American restaurant. Although we are grateful that you recognised how hard the majority of our colleagues work and that most of the staff you encountered were friendly and helpful, we also take your comments about certain interactions very seriously. We understand that, regardless of how busy the hotel may be, our guests should always feel listened to, welcomed and treated with courtesy.
Regarding the waiting times, we completely understand your frustration, particularly as you were staying on an All-Inclusive basis. We appreciate that having to wait for a drink when you are on holiday is not the experience you expect.
We would, however, like to provide a little context regarding the situation during periods of peak occupancy. At certain times of the season, the hotel can accommodate more than 1,000 guests at the same time, and the vast majority of our guests are enjoying our All-Inclusive service. As a result, there are certain periods of the day when a very large number of guests naturally concentrate at the same bars and service points simultaneously.
In these circumstances, even though our teams are working at full capacity and making every effort to serve everyone as quickly as possible, the sheer volume of guests can inevitably lead to longer waiting times. It is therefore not necessarily a question of there being insufficient staff, but rather of the exceptionally high concentration of guests requesting service at the same time.
That said, we completely understand that knowing the reason for a delay does not make the wait any less frustrating when you are trying to relax and enjoy your holiday. We therefore appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we will continue looking at ways to improve the organisation of our services and make these particularly busy periods as smooth as possible.
We are also particularly sorry that, on some occasions, you felt that certain members of staff appeared defensive or rude when faced with criticism. We recognise that working during the busiest periods of the season can be demanding, but this should never prevent our guests from feeling that their concerns are being heard and treated respectfully. Your comments are valuable to us in this regard.
Thank you as well for your comments regarding the evening entertainment and the availability of seating. We understand that being able to comfortably sit and enjoy the evening programme is an important part of the holiday experience, and we are sorry that the available seating was not always sufficient during the busiest moments.
We are pleased that you personally did not experience significant difficulties with sunbeds and appreciate you sharing your observations on availability in the morning. We also appreciate your comments about Can Picafort itself. We are sorry that the destination and beach did not meet your expectations, although we are glad that you discovered Playa de Muro and enjoyed it more.
Overall, we truly appreciate the balanced nature of your review. You have recognised the positive aspects of the hotel while also highlighting very specific areas where we can do better. This is extremely helpful to us.
We are delighted that, despite the issues mentioned, you were still able to enjoy your holiday overall. Nevertheless, we are genuinely sorry for the moments of frustration you experienced, and we will take your feedback on board as we continue working to improve the guest experience.
We sincerely hope that you will consider returning to Mallorca in the future and give us another opportunity to welcome you. We would be delighted to show you that your comments have been taken seriously and to provide you with an even more enjoyable and comfortable stay.
Thank you once again for your time, your constructive feedback and, in particular, for recognising the hard work of our team.
Best wishes,
Maria Fornari
