Comfortable and restful stay

We were very impressed with this hotel. It has been wonderfully and tastefully restored and everything is spotless. The service was also very good. We arrived on an unusually cold day in late April but the heating was put on in the room and they set the fire in the sitting room for us to have somewhere warm to stay before bed. The bedroom and bathroom were both very big and comfortable.

Amazing! Carefully restored 18th century building, beautiful gardens.

Luxurious rooms, great food and perfect services. The gardens are just breathtaking and there is plenty to do around the hotel: walks, a beautiful waterfall and the whole Ribeira Sacra with its wines and rivers Sil and Miño. We will be back!

nice place in the middle of the countryside

Not the easiest place to find but good old sat nav and a few signs from the hotel and we arrived safely! It's a lovely building with huge bedrooms and a very big garden area. We ate dinner which we will review separately. Breakfast is very basic. Owner was very nice.

Fabulous lunch, gorgeous building...

La Rectoral de Castillón is a beautifully restored 17th century rectory which now serves as a hotel and restaurant. There were three of us and we ordered two starters and two mains and an selection of home-made desserts. The portions were sizeable and the beef fillet and pork cheeks were cooked to perfection. As we were on a wine tour of the area we opted for local Ribeira Sacra wines. Be sure to have a stroll around lovely, peaceful gardens before you leave. We'll definitely be back and maybe stay a night or two.

Mediaeval palace hotel stay

This place is basically a small castle, which belonged to some vanished noble family; been painstakingly restored over many years, so now you can stay here and imagine being a Count or Duchess visiting, quite a nice restaurant too, old world style, traditional Galician fare, good value for money too especially in off season. Close to Ribeira Sacra D.O.C. vineyards in the beautiful Mino canyon.
