Total Tranquility
A great base from which to explore Cuenca and its province. The owners were extremely pleasant and helpful. It was obvious to see that they loved their job and their hotel. We had the distinct impression that La Antigua Vaquería was their life's dream. You couldn't meet friendlier, helpful people who were also meticulous in their job. The whole place was spotless.
The people of La Melgosa were also very friendly and willing to stop and chat. Thoroughly recommendable.

The horrible bed
Very nice everything, very well located, but it has two important sticks, the first is that they only wait until eight o'clock to collect the keys, and sometimes one of can not arrive at the time they want, the second and most important, we were given a queen bed, that I slept four days very badly, the mattress India to the center, and after being all day out, I ended up dead on the back, and it is a shame because everything else is perfect, but the rest at night is fundamental, and the cheap truth is not.

Pleasant quiet overnight stay
This small apartment, sleeping two couples and a three year old was perfect for our weekend visit to Cuenca. The village of La Melgosa is about 15 minute drive from old town of Cuenca....a quiet rural location. Comfortable beds, clean and tidy. Perfect for our overnight stay

an unusual but nice experience, great for travellers!
Lovely country farmhouse in tiny village of la melgosa. A short drive away from cuenca town and casas colgadas. Once inside this rural home it has a private beautiful little garden and spa facilities that unfortunately we did not use as we only had a short stay and you need to book and arrange with the manager. We arrived early before heading into cuenca and the family owners could not speak english. They seemed pleasant enough but the manager wasnt available. We had some difficulty communicating but like I say they seemed welcoming and me and my partner found it quite funny. We met a gentleman in cuenca that told us of only one bar/restaurant in la melgosa but that it was excellent and worth visitng. By the time we arrived back it was closed and the 'village' was in darkness it was only 9.30/10pm. We had to head into cuenca again for some food.

Lovely, run by wonderful and helpful people
A very nice place! The owners are wonderful people.
We can say this EVEN THOUGH Booking.com confused our reservation with a place of similar name in ECUADOR, Instead of cancelling only the WRONG booking they cancelled this one, without our knowledge.
Even though we showed up hours before the owners of this family-run finca arrived back home on a holiday weekend, we were allowed to use the public facilities and chat with other guests in this charming casa rural. The owners (once they were back) figured out the Booking.com mistake, called around on a booked-out weekend, found us a nice place for the night, and even DROVE WITH US the 30 km to our lodgings.
We wish we could have stayed with them and encourage all to visit this charming village.
Rarely have he met with such kindness and help in a "jam" like this. Viva La Antigua Vaqueria!
