Our room was spotlessly clean and modern with a beautiful bathroom.
The sea view was stunning too.
There are no tea and coffee making facilities which is my only negative.

Bad

Single room 204 is like a matchbox, sand stays in the bathroom sink, shower water leaks out. Since the wall is so close, they have placed the television, which you can only watch from the bed, very high up, and your neck ends up hurting. I bought it with a “continental” breakfast (11 euros), and upon seeing it, I went to have breakfast comfortably at the Hotel Hernán Cortés (14 euros); the one at the Alcomar is disgusting: frozen, half-white churros, bread, bread, and bread, industrial pastries, oily egg omelets, people don't fit at the tables… and the most shocking thing, I tried to give away the breakfasts that I am going to pay for and am NOT going to eat because they disgust me to a nice couple at the hotel, and they told me “NO”. 3 nights only, (thank God), 492 euros. Exactly.

Good room and facilities. The staff were friendly and always helpful. The breakfasts were excellent - in the adjoining cafe - with large egg dishes and really nice bacon. The location was central and some rooms overlook the beach. Would stay again.

Bridge with friends

We've been a group of seven friends, three nights. Hotel with nice old decoration but charming in common areas, Very clean. Comfortable rooms with splendid views of San Lorenzo beach. It's worth paying a little more for them. We did not take the accommodation with breakfast, but the hotel has its cafeteria with variety of breakfast products and very reasonably priced. Probably one of the best located hotels in Gijón, close to everything: Cimadevilla, port, Plaza Mayor, cider shops and restaurants...
Friendly staff at reception and a special mention for the cafeteria waiter: super efficient, very friendly, friendly...a tenner for him.
We'll be back.
