DON'T. JUST DON'T. You'll be sorry!
Positives: On a charming street. Free bottled water.
Negatives: There is no one to greet you when you arrive, until 3:00 p.m. Before, you are greeted by a housekeeper. A sign on the door says not to ring the bell. Well, what if you booked there? No one to ask for assistance, directions, recommendations. Talk about bare bones service. This place doesn't even offer a skeleton.
There is no where to sit in the 8' x 10' "lobby" if you are waiting for family/friends to show up, except three little stools, about 1.5 feet high, meant for children. Older people and anyone who is more than 80 lbs. will have trouble sitting on these ridiculously inadequate "seats." Not what anyone is looking for after a long flight.
Get ready, now. If you think you will be able to actually fall and stay sleep, think again. The walls are the absolute thinnest walls we have ever experienced. They just cannot be legally up to the building code for hostels/hotels. Conversations from the room next door were crystal clear, as if the people were in the room with us. A child screaming and crying several rooms away could have been on the threshold of our door. All night long, the snoring bear of a guy on the opposite side of us kept us awake. This was the absolute WORST experience of my life in terms of staying away from home. A high speed loud train is easier to sleep in.
Idiocy. The management "splashes out" on paper slippers, in-room coffee maker (no fridge, so no milk!), and the tiniest "bedside table" ever -- 4 inches by 12 inches. Not kidding. But why? When they could have spent that money on thickening the walls to make them less thin, so that you don't have to hear the party(-ies) next to you. It's supposed to be a hostel/hotel where you SLEEP, for God's sake. It was absolutely horrendous.
Finally, the other two women I traveled with and I took a vote, and want you to know, the toilet paper is THE WORST we have ever had to use. Ever. Falls apart in your hands. Tissue paper for wrapping gifts is thicker and would do the job better.
Should you find yourself in the desperate position of needing a place to stay in Madrid for the night, and the airport, bus or train station seats are full, come here but bring your own toilet paper; ah, but don't expect to get any rest.
FINAL WARNING. Don't book through their own website if you want a fair deal. Their site would not allow me to book three nights over a weekend--Thurs., Fri. and Sat.-- for a single room. It would take a booking only for FOUR nights. I thought this was a glitch but turns out, it's simple thievery. I complained about this very strongly and was met with complete resistance by the owner/manager. They just don't care about their customers. Maybe the owner inherited the place or something, thinking it would be a gold mine.
This place is an insult to travelers. The owner should pay US for staying there.
Even in NYC, a more desirable tourist destination than Madrid, there is sometimes a requirement for a three-night stay: usually, over New Year's. It's never FOUR nights.
This place is a rip off, no matter how you view it.
Do yourselves a favor and AVOID it.
EVITALO! HORRIBLE!

Pleasant stay in Diezmadrid
Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules and milk, as well as wine (33cl), snack and water.
Options to eat very close (Subway sandwiches, on the corner, open 24 hours)
I would return and recommend this accommodation to family and friends if they returned to the reasonable rates they had during my stay (I tried to book again for the second week of March 2024 and the rate went from 60 to 253 euros)
