Pleasant Welcome Tired Travelers
Kris Cazadora at Barajas Airport (one of a group of about 20 Spanish
hotels) is deservedly popular among Spanish and other European
travelers, chiefly business travelers. Its airport shuttle is prompt,
and the ride is short. The only problem is that you have to call from
the airport. They are happy to supply the phone number and kind about
travelers' confusions. Indeed the staff is generally very helpful and
well-informed, a good source of advice. Bar restaurant offers
appetizing food (great fish, for example) at very good prices and is
crowded in the evenings, but service is limited outside Spanish meal
times. Free internet is available in the lobby and works fine, though
there is sometimes a short wait. The rooms are pleasant and clean;
everything works; and the amenities are nicer than average. Hotel
design is pleasant, wings off a large central atrium, though I didn't
particularly care for the decor. If quiet is important, ask for a
room on the third floor. Pricing varies.

Terrible staff
The hotel was not really too close to the airport as described. The rooms were clean and spacious. My only gripe is the fact that unless you appear to be spanish the staff seem oblivious to your existence! We waited patiently at reception for help and were continually ignored, i felt insulted and angry. This was'nt limited to the reception. The bar man bothered to get from his stool after several minutes wait, and eventually served us. He was arrogant and smug, why i do not know as he it seems he has another 30 odd years left of serving tourists in a fly infested bar. Overall....perfectly normal hotel run by ignorant oafs.

Acceptable hotel close to airport at a decent price
Drove into Madrid at 6PM needing a hotel for our flight out the next day and saw the hotel. This hotel has free parking close to the airport (also has a free airport shuttle). Was a clean and comfortable room. The room was a reasonable value versus the big airport hotels. Would stay here again if I needed a room for a night close to the airport.

bad hotel/bad experience wih Desk/waited for shuttle for 70 minutes!!!!!

This is more a Youth Hostel than a hotel. Worst shuttle service ever, really unfriendly staff (with the exception of the restaurant waiters), bad rooms (poor mattress, very loud A.C, very poor TV channels reception in our room). we stopped there for one night coming from Sevilla and before heading back to New York the next day. What a change from the hotels we stayed at upon arriving in Madrid 2 weeks earlier!!!!!! Avoid to make the same mistake as we did. This place is a shame. Karla

Kris Cazadora- we Were Disappointed
Do not be fooled by its three star rating. We were very disappointed with this hotel which claims to be 2 minutes from the airport by free regular service bus. First impressions are OK, the bi-lingual receptionists were wonderful but the Hotel was a let-down. The adverts do not tell you that you must phone from the airpot for the service bus to arrive (we had no coins on us and when we did ring and were told the service bus was on its way, it took half an hour to reach us - for a 2 minute ride?) . They don't tell you on the internet that the airport service bus finishes its runs at 1 a.m. (an airport hotel that cannot get you to the airport on an early flight is not good) We had to get an 11 euro taxi to get back to the airport. The room was generally clean and OK with comfortable beds and a TV & air conditioning, bigger, but certainly not more luxurious than the one star hostal we had stayed in the night before. There was no toilet paper in the toilet. When I asked at the reception, I was told that a roll would be brought but It never arived. In the end I had to collect some serviettes from the bar. The mini bar was expensive (they usually are) but one of the bottles of water had the security seal broken (was it filled with tap water we wondered?). There was a large dirty scrub mark along one wall in the bedroom. Not all of the light bulbs were in operation and the first floor landing had a very dirty wall. We never had any meals other than a plato combinado in the bar which was good and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the bar was tacky with litter scattered across the floor and what seemed like local workers who all knew each other, drinking at the bar most of the time. The hotel is in a large industrial complex with constant noise at night from trailer loads of mail running backwards and forwards to the nearby Post Office depot. Had it had a lower star rating and cheaper cost we may not have been so disappointed but without doubt this is the worst 3 star hotel we have stayed at in Spain and we would not stay there again.
