Glorious week in Nerja
Just back from a wonderful week in Nerja. A jewel in Spains crown. Stayed in a two bed appartment on the second floor with a beautiful sea view. We had everything we needed. The appartment was clean and had all the kitchen equipment you could need for breakfast etc..the rooftop terrace was comfortable and spotless and has a toilet..Helena was very accomodating and ordered our taxi for Us. We felt very secure there and its so central to everything. Would highly recomend the Calabella and would return in a heartbeat.

Calabella Apartments are Ideal.
Been staying at the Calabella for many years. It’s situated next to the Balcon de Europa. So very central.
The one bedroom apartments face the street and the two bedroomed face the sea. The ones on the street are great for people watching and once the patio doors are shut you can’t hear any noise whatsoever. Prime views when the saints parades are on.
There are 3 floors with a lift. The third floor is the sun terrace with a small pool, sunbeds and tables and chairs. Sun umbrellas are provided along with beach towels.
The kitchen is adequate with dishwasher, washing machine, ironing board and iron.
The owner Helena is so helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. A lovely lady!

Amazing hidden apartment.
It was a beautiful large apartment overlooking the Balcon and beautiful beach.Helena was a lovely lady who was so courteous and helpful. A large two bedroomed apartment with plenty of space and everything supplied if you needed to use dishwasher or washing machine. Balcony doors slide into each other to open up the large sitting room to amazing view. Beautiful pool on 3rd floor overlooking beautiful walks.plenty of sunbeds and sitting. Restaurants all around.you will be spoiled for choice. Would recommend it to everyone.

Great location but lacking in facilities
Family of four of us stayed here for a week in July 2022. The apartment appeared nice on first impression. However from a practical viewpoint is very lacking in facilities. It gets consistent good reviews because it’s location is excellent. However there is only aircon in the lounge. This doesn’t reach the bedrooms. When we stayed it was very warm and even sleeping with all the doors open between bedrooms and lounge it was uncomfortably hot. There was no storage in the main bedroom at all. Not even a hook behind the door. I didn’t even unpack my case because of this.
The apartment was covered in hairs when I arrived and I made the mistake of contacting the owner.
At the end of our holiday I left a decent review on Airbnb because she did get someone to clean the hairs so I didn’t mention this issue. However she left me a disgusting review on Airbnb. Accused me of leaving sand all over the apartment which would have been difficult to do considering we never went to the beach during our holiday. Also accused of breaking a drawer and a tile? This nasty review really upset me considering I had been kind in my original review and we didn’t break anything. We also left the apartment clean and tidy. Removed all rubbish etc. So if you’re staying there on Airbnb please think twice before complaining to the owner about anything.
The shower room drains really smelled but it was the whole area so not sure if it was just this apartment block.
Overall I would recommend this apartment for location. Try not to go during the hottest months and don’t have any expectations about being able to unpack. Also try not to mind finding 30+ hairs all over the place including the beds.
