Amazing staying at Refugio del Alamut, hosts are super friendly!

This is an amazing staying, we were 2 friends staying for a night and the welcome was great. Hosts are very friendly and they gave us a lift in the morning since we had no car! If you’re visiting the region you need to spend your nights there. Plus, the food is really good and breakfast too.

High in the hills

A great find while on my motorcycle tour of Spain. It's on the edge of a small village with stunning views across the valleys. I had a chalet room which was comfortable and tastefully decorated, with silent fan and excellent air conditioning. There's a small pool here to laze by and large relaxation area near the bar. The food was excellent and the host was most amiable and helpful. The village itself is a short walk away and has a good restaurant too. It's very close to the brilliant gorge and scenery of El Chorro and also the Lobo Park Wolf Reserve, so it's a definite plus for visitors coming to this region.

Kids at the pool!

If you want to stay in a delightful, out-of-the-way, peaceful setting with such friendly hosts as Maria Carmen and her husband Gabriel, then this is the place for you. OK, it's not modern and you couldn't call it luxurious but for rustic simplicity with your own comfortable, semi-detached 'lodge' for sleeping, spacious grounds to saunter in and relax plus a swimming pool and loungers to enjoy, this refuge takes some beating. At the height of summer, even a wild goat kid or two has been known to visit the pool for a sip of its crystal clear water!
"I'm going to tell TripAdvisor about this special haven with your bar filled with interestingly quaint antiquities you've gathered over the years", I told Carmen on leaving. "Well, I'm not sure about that for who knows whether all reports are genuine", she replied. "All I want is for you and your family to have been pleased to be here with us".
And most surely we were.

Exactly what we expected with a nice twist

We arrived approx 1.5 hours early and the host was available and let us check in when we arrived, she was friendly and pleasant.
We wanted relaxation around the pool in a place where we could take our dog and that's what we got.
We had a few drinks around the pool and were the only ones there for quite a while, the Host bought us a plate of different shellfish out of the goodness of her heart and it was extremely well received by us and so fresh and delicious.
We asked if we could have dinner there as we didn't want to drive anywhere and she told us it was Iberian Pork which we were very happy with.
We went to dinner about 1930 and were presented with a lovely fresh salad basic but good enough and it was excellently dressed with their homemade Olive Oil, we then received our main and it was so tasty.
The surroundings were amazing, whilst we were laying on our Sun Loungers 5-6 Deer slowly crept down the mountain side to take a drink from the Pool. It was very special to see.
As a whole this is not a 5 star place to stay, no A/C in the room just a ceiling fan, very hot weather and basic amenities, but if you want to relax and recharge your batteries, feel part of a family and do what the locals do its perfect and we loved it.

Good atmosphere with beautiful mountain views

A Picturesque accommodation with rustic atmosphere. Do not expect luxurious accommodation. Is a place where the reuse of materials is a constant, and with some cool and curious details, such as floor ceramic with bird's footmarks.
The room have a good area and the decoration is a mix of rustic with some ethnic elements and where the furniture is practically all achieved through stone. It's not a super clean room, and I'd rather it had no carpets at all, but what really disappointed me was the bottom sheet with some stains. The bathroom is nice and clean.
The landscape from the room is beautiful, with impressive mountain peaks that rise above the valley where you can observe in the distance the brave Iberian Wild Goat, walking and jumping on the rocks.
