Hotel Hviidehus in Ronneby - very good!

We stayed two nights at this hotel in July 2013. Beforehand we had by mail requested information about nearby restaurants, since the hotel's own restaurant was closed. We got very good information. Service at the hotel was outstanding, both on arrival, during the stay and at check-out. The room was spacious and bright, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side. Breakfast was nice, with so few guests there will be no hectic activity around the buffet, as on others larger hotels. We highly recommend this hotel!

Delightful Swedish Hideaway

Visiting Ronneby for a weekend wedding, we chose to stay at Hviidehus because it seemed like a quiet spot, a little way out of town. We were semi-right!
The hotel is small and welcoming, with beautiful Swedish interior design. The room we had (number 27 - Emma) was on the corner, with its own bay window and balcony. It was smaller than expected, but airy and light, and on a blistering day, the ability to catch a breeze through the windows due to the hotel's elevated position was very welcome indeed. One small disappointment was that across the road there appears to be a new housing development being built, which rather spoils the view - but we weren't bothered by any building noise while we were there.
Hviidehus is situated 10 minutes walk along the river from the centre of Ronneby, including the train station. It's in a nice neighbourhood, full of picturesque houses. The hotel is also right next to the town park, which is wonderful for wandering around, though be warned: in the middle of the park is a bigger resort hotel, and at least on the nights we stayed they appeared to have an outdoor concert taking place with bands playing late into the night. This was audible from our room in Hviidehus, and caused quite a bit of extra traffic going to and from town into the small hours. Not a huge problem, but noticeably noisier than we expected.
Breakfasts were wholesome and relaxed, and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. Free WiFi is provided in the rooms, and there's a safe (though the instructions were in Swedish so I couldn't get it to work).
A couple of minor niggles: there was no extractor fan in the en suite bathroom, which meant it got very hot and stuffy during and after a shower. Also (though the hoteliers can't be blamed for this) on the one night we slept with the windows open because it was so hot, I got eaten alive by mosquitos. Ah well. A small price to pay for a lovely stay in a relatively unknown part of Sweden.

Fabolous place for the price

If you are going to Rönneby, this is the place you want to live. The staff is excellent, the location is great, and the hotel interior is very cozy. I higly recommend it.

Nja

Började bra med fina och charmiga rum i en miljö som verkligen andas Brunnsparksmiljö. Trevligt bemötande och personal. Tyvärr serverades en alldaglig frukost utan något varmt på bordet. Avslutades med en riktig besvikelse faktiskt då priset inte var direkt billigt.

Trevlig miljö men tråkig frukost.

Bodde på hotellet i 3 nätter. Jag var enda gästen under den här tiden. Rummet var Rent och fint med en skön säng. Hotellet saknar resturang men klarar man sig utan det så är det bra. Det enda som var dåligt med boendet var frukosten. Jag får en bättre frukost hemma varje dag.
