Dog Friendly Fine Dining Luxury Hotel

We found this as the perfect place in the Dales for a luxurious weekend break. Our dog friendly room was spacious, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The staff were all friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The communal areas in the house were delightful, although the weather was so nice that except for dining we spent most of our time in the equally delightful gardens. The bar was well stocked and service very attentive. The food was all delicious, the bar menu on our first night, the tasting menu on our second and both breakfasts. We loved our stay here and look forward to paying our next visit.

Great discovery in the Lancashire Dales

Secreted away in a pretty Dales village, this traditional stone built hotel was a treat to discover. Set in beautifully tended gardens in picturesque upland countryside the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed but professional. A guest feels secure in the success and popularity of the place. Our room was delightful with gorgeous views and attractive furnishings. In room goodies included delicious home made biscuits on the hospitality tray, fresh fruit and water. The modern luxe bathroom was stocked with Molten Brown. Our only disappointment was the trad sized double bed which now feels tiny in this era. The kitchen turns out intricate and intriguing cuisine (much of it locally sourced) and the extensive tasting menus seemed popular on our visit. Most dishes were very good. Duck massaman curry with pickled pineapple was magnificent as was the salt aged beef and Shetland mussels with cheese scone. Less successful was a slightly bland ‘courgette gazpacho’ with buratta. Local cheeses were excellent served with membrillo and rhubarb chutney. Be careful not to overdose on chef’s irresistible freshly baked milk loaf and salted whipped butter served with the starters! Breakfast is also a joy with sourdough toast. Particularly enjoyable was the haddock with poached eggs and spinach. Lovely friendly service throughout although one or two members of staff are clearly still in training.

Lovely traditional country house hotel

The owners describe The Traddock as a work in progress, by which I guess they mean there are always improvements to be made.
But I think they do themselves a dis-service, because the place is comfy, welcoming, the service is great, and the location is lovely, for sightseeing, walking, or reaching out to the Lake District for a day.
We had a beautiful second-floor room with terrific views, and, be aware, the stairs are quite challenging.
Food and Bev quality is good - our Sunday and Monday stay meant we missed the evening Tasting Menu, but that’s fine for us!
Breakfast was fine, (apart from rather poor porridge), and the public rooms are nicely cosy and relaxing.
The garden is also a lovely open space with great views.
No reason at all to mark The Traddock down, we would definitely return.

Home from home in the Yorkshire Dales

We absolutely love this place…the staff, location and facilities are perfect for the best stay in the Yorkshire Dales. They are super dog friendly and make you feel completely at home in their beautiful hotel. The rooms are the best that we have stayed in with lush Milton Brown toiletries, lots of space and the comfiest of beds! It is the perfect base for a luxury walking holiday and we can’t wait to return. Thank you Traddock Hotel

Best staff EVER!

We returned, this week to The Traddock for an overnight stay. As ever, everything was superb - the room, food, hospitality and, especially, the friendliest, most professional staff that we have ever met.
