So good that we’ve rebooked
We visited Dorset Glamping Fields last year and have rebooked again for this year because we loved it so much. We loved being close to nature and the comfort of sleeping in actual beds and really rated the facilities, having a fridge, freezer and electric in the kitchen area was very handy. It’s also in a great location, handy for beach trips, highly recommended.

Disappointed
Definitely different to what you see on website no heating in tents at all just 3 beds a table and a small mirror and a dead chargeable light the toilet are compost ones so as soon as you do your business you have to cover with sawdust not nice too see when they didn’t get emptied whole time we were there no electric hook up to tents just in small barn which does have kettle Fridges freezer microwave defo not worth paying money we did defo expecting it be proper glamping and amount of ticks unbelievable do not take dogs or animals yet

Thank you for your review. We are very saddened to read you had a sad experience, we strive to provide customers with happy experiences. And we appreciate there is always room for improvement so do listen to customer comments.
However, your review is very disappointing and makes false statements in so many ways, that we are forced to respond to clarify. For example we do NOT not have not ever advertised:
1. provide heating in Bell tents & we do not advertise electric hook ups.
We do clearly advertise that
2. toilets are composting toilets, these are cleaned and emptied 3 times a day. I apologise if you experienced differently and will ensure we keep a cleaning log/rota to support customers having good composting toilet experience as composting toilets is sometimes a new experience for guests.
3. Also, any lights reported to us as battery dead we replace immediately. Did you do that and was it replaced?
4. The Old Barn does have fridges, freezers, kettle for guest comfort. a microwave too to help guests with young children and there several charging sockets for mobile phones, digital equipment.
I do recall spending nearly an hour with you and your children discussing whether your children had tick bites, which can always be a possibility in an open field with nature. We provide Tick guidance in the pre-arrival PDF booklet and a poster on the welcome advice board in the Guest Barn communal area, where we also advertise local emergency and health services - such as GP contact details. I observed your children and it was more likely they had insect bites not tick bites and I provided you our local GP contact details for you to attend if you were genuinely concerned, as I could see your anxiety was alarming your children.
You booked a glamping tent in the middle of a field surrounded by nature, insects, deer, rabbits, birds etc. One of our advisories is to bring antihistamine to overcome such eventuality.
