Worst hotel.

So many roaches! Missing light bulbs, shower wouldn’t completely turn off, missing smoke alarm, needs updating and cleaning, box springs cover was badly stained. Remote has food on it. Tv was filthy. Coach looked broken. Furniture was banged up. Ceiling of bathroom had water damage. Tub has some sort of crack. We ended up sleeping in our car because we had seen and killed so many roaches.

I was in the area to visit the Traveler's Rest State Historical Site. I only stayed at this motel one night.

Next to the motel office is a swimming pool with green algae floating on top of the water.
I had room 203 on the second floor. The steps leading up to the second floor balcony from the parking lot were old and cracked but probably safe. The railing that went with these outside steps needed to be wiped down because airbourne highway grit had settled on it.
I went up to my room and found a motel bed with two wall lamps on either side of it and a grimy arm chair. The other chair in the room was a nice office chair. There was a nice new TV fastened to the wall. There was no place to hang clothes. There was a 4" in diameter hole in the middle of the bathroom door and in addition there was no way to lock the bathroom door because the door knob was missing.
This motel does not provide blankets or even a comforter for the bed. On top of the bed, there were just two sheets sewed together with some sort of thin filling between them. To compensate, I brought up three blankets from my car that I had brought with me. In addition I had a lot of trouble adjusting the Amana heating unit in my room; it would not run for a long time and then take off running for a long time and overheat the room. I only slept two or three hours at most.
The continental breakfast was just cellophane wrapped danish and coffee. The coffee was good though. I went down to a local diner for breakfast.

DO NOT STAY HERE

I reserved this hotel through hotel.com for one night. When I got to the hotel there was a phone laying outside that I was supposed to call the front desk. NOONE ANSWERED! I was unable to check into a room I had already paid for!! I still can’t get anyone on the phone!

Very shady

First impression was the guy behind the desk. He didn't speak when I told him my name and I realized he was on a personal phone call with earbuds. Pool was a lovely shade of green. Parking lot was dirty and outside wasn't the best looking. Room was a little better. Mattress was good. Walls had sections that weren't painted and heavy smell of deodorizer trying to mask that someone had smoked in there. Toilet paper holder had fallen out of the wall and there were bugs in the floor. We were traveling with friends and their room was the same.
After checking in, we found several different drunks in and out of their rooms (5 pm). We were going to stay another night, but obviously decided against it.
Felt very uncomfortable.
