A lovely oasis in the heart of Zimbabwe

Palm Leaf Gardens is located a few km outside the Midlands town of Kwekwe, just off the main road from Harare to Bulawayo. You need to navigate quite a few potholes to get there but it's definitely worth the effort. Here you will find a peaceful oasis where one may take shelter from the heat. Set in lovely gardens the accommodation is very comfortable and the staff are courteous and helpful. Breakfast and dinner are available and reasonably priced but should be ordered in advance. If you feel the need to exercise there is even a small swimming pool and a gym.

Quiet and Clean, Some deficiencies

I got a room with a kitchen and lounge area. Bedroom quite small. No kettle to boil water, but tea and coffee provided. The bathroom needs some maintenance. Towel rail and soap holder both detached from walls. The lodge has solar power, so at least lights and power were on; but not for the airconditioner, this only came on late at night with the grid energy. This meant that the bedroom was hot; but if windows were opened, many insects because there was no screen.
