Clermont-Ferrand Airport is located in Aulnat less than 7km east of Clermont-Ferrand. The A71 motorway takes you to Paris via Bourges in just over 3 hours. The A75 or ‘Méridienne’ links Clermont-Ferrand to Béziers and Montpellier, and only 3 hours from the Mediterranean and on to Spain while the A89 leads to Rhône-Alpes region and links Clermont to Lyon in just 2 hours and onward to Avignon, Marseille and Nice. The A89 goes to Bordeaux, Biarritz and San-Sebastian.

It takes just under two hours to drive from Clermont Ferrand Airport to Lyon. Take the D769 from the airport and get on to the A71. Merge with the D766 then exit for the A712 to Clermont Ferrand. Exit on to the A72 toll road merging first with the A711 toll road then the A89 toll road. Continue on to the N7 then the N489 exiting for the A6 to Lyon. Follow the signs to the centre of the city.
Famed for its enable work, Limoges is a lovely little escape from city life. As well as endless shops selling china and porcelain, there are some fabulous museums and galleries to explore. Don’t miss the stunning spectacle and copper dome of the city’s grand art-deco station, Gare des Bénédictins.
Limoges is just over two hours drive from Clermont Ferrand Airport. Get on the A71 toll road from the airport taking the A89 exit towards Limoges. Exit at the A20 then at exit 33 to Limoges Centre.
Clermont-Ferrand is wrapped around an extinct volcano in heart of the Massif Central. A soaring cathedral marks out the old town while the surrounding Auvergne region is a playground of valleys and mountains to hike, bike, walk and ski. The home of Michelin tyres, business buffs may get a kick out of its hardy industrial heritage. Pavement bars, boutiques and chic cafes offer plenty of places to relax throughout the day and night.
The centre of Clermont Ferrand is just under 20 minutes away from the airport by car. Take the D769 from the airport, merging with the Rue du Pre la Reine. Follow signs for the centre of Clermont Ferrand.
Car parking on the edge of the city centre is free while the underground car park on the main square has an evening/overnight fixed tariff of €2/3 from 7pm onwards. On street parking costs vary depending on the zone but ranges from €0.50 to €1.50 per hour. Some hotels in Clermont-Ferrand also offer free parking.
