As of November 2016, there are seven airports in the Republic of Ireland with scheduled services on commercial airlines (Waterford Airport, Galway Airport and Sligo Airport aren't running any routes just now).

In order of popularity, the top Irish Airports are:

Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport has two terminals. You'll find lots of great shopping in The Loop, and if you're flying to America you can use the US preclearance facilities to make security a little easier when you land. The most popular routes are London, Manchester, Birmingham, Paris and New York.

Cork Airport

Cork Airport has one terminal, and is the country's second busiest airport. The most popular routes from Cork are London, Amsterdam, Malaga, Lanzarote and Paris.

Shannon Airport

Ireland's third international airport, Shannon has US preclearance facilities to make flying to the states a lot easier. The airport's five busiest routes are London, New York, Manchester, Boston and Faro.

Knock Airport

This airport was built for pilgrims visiting Knock shrine, and its construction inspired a musical. Ryanair, Flybe and Aer Lingus all offer short-haul flights from Knock.

Kerry Airport

Also known as Farranfore Airport, there are only a few regular services to Dublin, Frankfurt Hahn and London. There are also flights to Faro and Alicante in summer.
