Cheap cheerful ideal location
Great location, great price, bar down stairs was great morris the bar man was the best.
My review is based on a group of us in 1 room no strangers in there. If we had to share my review would prob change as there isn't much privacy. Toilets don't really lock that well.
Only down fall the size of the toilets but it's not much of a down fall

Avoid
It's in the old part of town. There are some small supermarkets in the area.
Negative:
Passing by the hostel we saw that the staircase is narrow and kind of round. That's not written in the description on booking.com. I wouldn't have been able to do those stairs due to my disability.
When we booked two beds in the hostel, unfortunately we didn't see the age limit written at the bottom of the page (after the suggestions of booking.com for other accommodation). I have a disability and every now and then need the help of my travel mate. Staff informed me that I wouldn't be allowed to stay at the hostel because of my age. They wanted me to pay the whole sum anyway because it was my fault that I didn't read the small print and booked with them. They offered me to book an apartment instead for a higher price. I accepted only because I couldn't afford to loose all that money (around 74 Euros) and pay for another hostel. Their behavior was not OK.
Internet didn't work when we arrived and the connection we got to use later was very slow. Netflix didn't work either. There were only Croatian channels on TV. The lock of the main door has a problem and in the morning we couldn't get out. My travel mate climbed out of the window to open the door from the outside. I have a problem with my legs and couldn't climb out of window myself. When we took a shower in the evening, the water had a problem to go away and the bathroom got flooded. Even though we tried to dry it up with the towels, it was still wet in the morning so that I couldn't use the toilet without getting wet feet.
The cutlery is placed under the sink (where the dirty water discharge is).
There is loud music in the evening. Somebody tried to enter the apartment in the evening a few times.
I was told from staff that we didn't have to pay any taxes but when I checked the receipt the taxes were stated clearly. In the Tourist Tax Act is written clearly that the disabled in certain cases don't pay the tourist tax. Staff didn't even want to see my European Disability Card and told me that everybody - disabled or not disabled - had to pay that tax.

WHAT A MESS!!
I tried to contact with them by mail and phone for last 3 days.
Even booking.com cannot reach them. WHAT A MESS!!
I dont know if there is someone alive or anyone cannot speak english?
What is worse than loosing money before the trip -.-

Age Discrimination - Booked for two nights. Upon arrival told I could’nt stay, because I was over 45 years old.
I was refused to consume my booking, because I was over 45 years old. I have been in 99 world countries, stayed at hostels from New Zealand to Chile, and have had no such a case. They claim to be “Adults Only”, but actually they accept just guests aged 18-45.

THEFT
This is the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in! It was dirty, unsafe and cramped. The door to the street was left unlocked all the time and there were reports of homeless coming in and checking lockers. The toilet and shower facilities were disgusting throughout our 2 day stay and we couldn’t use the toilet for over 24hours because it was so badly blocked - disgusting! But to make matters worse, I left my airpods when leaving in a rush. I managed to contact the staff and they found them, sent me a picture of them to confirm but since then they have avoided all contact with me and blocked my number when I requested they send them out to me!! Attached is the picture they sent me to say they had found them. This was a really disappointing end to our amazing trip around Croatia. Don’t let the cheap price lure you in - Tequila Hostel is not worth it!!!
