6 nights in Copenhagen

We stayed at the Scandic Spectrum for 6 nights. The check in and check out experience was seamless with the staff being very friendly and professional. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, well laid out bathroom and a stable internet access. Room temperature was easy to control and stable throughout our stay. Onsite breakfast has 2 different areas to go to, top and bottom floors with plenty to choose from and the staff kept all the choices well-stocked. The onsite restaurant was very good, if a little pricey, but then most hotel restaurants are. The only drawback for me was the lack of an in-room telephone. All in all, good value for the money.

Ok but could be great with some improvements

Stayed for 2 nights. The receptionist upon arrival was miserable and made it very clear she didn't want to respond to any questions whatsoever: 'Take your key and sod off' was the vide she was giving. Paid extra for a bigger room for 3 people. Could just about fit between the beds, so I would hate to see what the regular-size rooms are. The third bed was a fold-up with a super thin mattress. We had to take turns sleeping on it as the springs came through; it was that thin.Give just 2 glasses. 2 pillows, 2 towels yet booked a room for 3 people. The lighting was a pain to use and you needed some kind of manual to work out how the hell to use it. A simple light switch would have been great.
On the plus side, great location, very modern, the restaurant staff were great, and we had a nice evening meal. The whole hotel was super clean and well maintained.
Beware, you are expected to pay to use the pool and to lock your bag up in a secure locker that you have to drag down some stairs and across a car park.
Would I stay again - not sure to be honest.

Great food and people

The food, waiter and waitress were just fantastic. The value, quality as well as the service we got were far better than other famous Italian restaurants in town, which were often very arrogant. Special thanks to Elisa and Daniel for their great manners and kindness towards the guests. We will definitely visit again!!!

The staff at the reception suggested me to upgrade to a “ bigger and better room “, I paid extra 2000 dkk, but the shower drain was so stinky in the bathroom! They don’t even provide tissue for the room, no hand towels either, the doors are so difficult to open, especially was very inconvenient when moving the luggage! The room was actually only had a table plus 2 chairs and a sofa, useless, they were taking up all the space, the room was not big at all!

Avoid

We have stayed in many Scandic hotels and this is by far the worst experience. On check in staff were rude and unfriendly. Put it down to a one off but later that evening we went to the restaurant and were completely ignored by multiple staff who just walked by whilst we waited at the sign to be seated. We were eventually told a table was being prepared before being left again as staff just walked on by. We gave up and went to the local supermarket. The room itself was ok however the lighting system is completely illogical and unusable - despite a supposed guide on the wall! The air conditioning is also useless. There are two other Scandic hotels nearby - go to one of those or a different hotel and avoid this one.

Dear Guest
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.
I am especially sorry to hear that this stay did not live up to the experiences you have had with us previously.
We always want our guests to feel warmly welcomed and well looked after from the moment you arrive, so I regret that both the check-in experience and your visit to the restaurant left such a disappointing impression. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide.
Thank you as well for sharing your comments regarding the room. Feedback like yours is very valuable to us and helps us continue improving the overall guest experience.
I hope you still had the opportunity to enjoy Copenhagen, the harbour area and some of the many wonderful experiences the city has to offer.
Warm regards
Betina - Guest Relations
