Where to hire a car at Copenhagen Airport
There are six car hire companies with desks at Copenhagen Airport: Europecar, Hertz, Avis, Budget, Sixt and Enterprise. All of the desks are inside the terminal, so you don’t need to go far to pick up your car.
Petrol stations near Copenhagen Airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
Luckily there is a Statoil petrol station located just 7 minutes drive from Copenhagen Airport. Take Lufthavnsboulevarden and take the 4th exit at the roundabout Get on to Amager Landevej and take a right onto Syvvstjerne Alle. Take a left and the petrol station will be on the right hand side.
Driving around Copenhagen Airport
It is easy to get around Copenhagen from the airport thanks to the proximity of the E20 motorway that runs right by it. The E20 uses the toll road Øresund Bridge to Sweden and connects Copenhagen to most of the rest of the country.

It takes just over 30 minutes to reach Malmo in Sweden, from Copenhagen Airport. Merge onto the E20 from the airport and get on to the Oresundsbroen toll road to Sweden. Take the exit for Limhamn and Malmo and follow the signs for the city centre.
Notoriety has come to Roskilde largely thanks to its incredible four day rock festival named after the town. Giving Glastonbury a run for its money, this is Europe’s biggest rock festival with huge international acts playing every year and 70,000 tickets selling out in just a few days. If this doesn’t entice you to visit Roskilde, perhaps the Viking Ship Museum will do the trick.
Roskilde is just 30 minutes by car from Copenhagen Airport. Get on the E20 from the airport and take the right lane for the E55 for Helsingor. Merge onto route 21 and keep left following signs for Roskilde.

Copenhagen is just 20 minutes by car from Copenhagen Airport. Get on the E20 from the airport and take exit 19 towards Bella Center.
On-street parking Copenhagen is charged from Monday to Friday 24 hours a day and on Saturday from 8am to 7pm. The central Red Zone costs 30 DKK per hour, the uter Green Zone is 18 DKK per hour while the further Blue Zone is 11 DKK per hour.
In the city centre and the districts Østerbro, Vesterbro, Nørrebro, Amagerbro and Islands Brygge chargeable parking applies in three parking zones. In all three zones the rate after 6pm to 11pm is DKK 11 per hour and from 11pm to 8am DKK 3 per hour. On public holidays, parking is free. Some hotels in Copenhagen also offer free parking.
