The area is great for getting about if you aren’t put off by the ‘popular’ feel in the neighbourhood, can be tricky at night time but I know Paris very well so wasn’t put off. The flat was cute, under the ceilings on the third floor, had everything we needed for our stay. Annoying bathroom mirror on the back door of the bathroom so sat on the toilet seat (as small and a bit awkward) which cracked as cheap plastic, but apart from that it was good value for money. Dry close to metro, a stones throw to Montmatre and the Moulin Rouge (red light district), and five minute walk from the Gare du Nord which is convenient for the Eurostar. I would recommend it for people who are a little bit street wise at night time.

That's bad!

Residence at rue Clignancourt 8
composed of some very small apartments. Not recommended for families with children and teenagers in tow.
The apartment on the second floor in which we were supposed to stay, no longer received routine maintenance and deep cleaning perhaps for years.
The sofa bed, dirty with organic material and broken on one side, is a cheap 90 cm wide dormieuse.
Sewer miasmas come out of the cup drain column.
Who manages this structure, does not answer the phone and has not even given the codes to access it to a couple who like us has looked for another location.

Property is unresponsive. Place is hard to locate since they have a very small door. Corridors is too small and you only get the basic stuff. You would benefit more if you would pay extra to get a decent hotel instead
