March in Paris

They lived from March 20 to March 26. We booked 2 rooms, triple and double.
Pros
1. Location successful, near North Station, Montmartre, to Opera walk 15 minutes
2. Friendly staff
3. Room small, clean, quiet, has kettle, cups
4. There's an elevator, only a very small one.
Cons
1. Elevator small
2. There's not much variety for breakfast.
3. The hotel is old

Good location, budget friendly, warm staff

I stayed at Residence du Pré for 3 nights back in September 2025, after my group tour had ended. The hotel is on the smaller side, but that adds to the charm. What really stood out was the lady at the front desk (Caroline?) - incredibly warm, welcoming, and ALWAYS ready to help. She made the stay feel personal and easy.
The location is fantastic: just a short walk to Montmartre and the stunning Sacré Cœur, perfect for exploring without needing transport. The breakfast spread is limited (they don’t seem to have a running kitchen), but it’s enough to start the day. Also, don’t be surprised by the size of the lift - it’s tiny, but that’s part of the Parisian charm!
If you’re looking for a cozy place with amazing hospitality, Residence du Pré is a gem.

I understand we are in Paris, but....

Very Parisian hotel in a way. Very small room, no air conditioning (and the temperature in Paris was 35-36 degrees!). Bad quality/price ratio. Rather minimalistic breakfast, of decent quality (but coffee is served quite cold). While the lady at the reception when I checked in was nice and friendly, the lady at the checkout (on a Sunday) was grumpy.

Nice hotel

Hotel was fine! Good value for money and nice breakfast. (I only missed chocolate milk at breakfast). Very friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic Paris, gently moderate hotel

Many negative unfortunately and few positive.
Positive or strategic location-area and subway proximity (5 minutes).
Daily cleaning (unfortunately last day a towel with feces on one side, maybe coincidentally wrong, because the cleaner looked laborious).
The negative:
I just checked in at night, asked for a glass of water due to tiredness from the melancholy gentleman at the reception.
He said no water, first three euros for a small bottle. I was sorry about the behavior, I went to Lafayette Street 2.5e the big bottles, is not the amount but the way of not welcoming from the hotel.
No wardrobe but shelves (photo), no air conditioning, no water (0.20 minutes to the supermarket, the small bottle in the hotel), minion tivi, no soundproofing, on the 5th floor, no view (d.51) with elevator for one person and dangerous staircase, old hotel.
Breakfast was not requested due to 8:30 and then opens, not suitable for guided tours that you leave 7-7:30 to see. I have visited 14 countries, the first time I make negative reviews for a hotel unfortunately.And the hotel tax 3 nights extra 33 euros to the kind lady of reception.
