City hotels

On a business trip I stayed at the Hotel Dalberg. Since I could not estimate the distance from the main train station to the hotel based on the city map of Aschaffenburg, I originally wanted to take a taxi, but the taxi driver advised me to walk. With luggage, the way was not quite so easy for me as a foreigner.
The Dalberg is a rather manageable city hotel in Pfaffengasse between Stiftskirche (very close!) and Schloss Johannisburg (350 to 400 m). In the entrance area on the ground floor there is a foyer with several armchairs. On a sideboard there were cookies, small cakes, sweets and cool water. To the reception in 1. On the first floor you can reach by elevator, which actually stops between the floors, but this was no problem. The reception was factual-friendly. My room was not too big but very clean and almost “homely”. The tiny balcony went out onto a backyard and even had two small flower boxes with geraniums. On the desk there was once again sweets, a small bottle of still water and an electric kettle with various teas and espresso. The minibar was also well equipped, you would have needed it. The bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was served from 7am. The extensive range of food I encountered was consistent with the descriptions in previous TA reviews. The responsible staff were very obliging. I haven't missed anything and I can't complain about anything. I can give four TA points in good conscience. I didn't book the Ritz.

Very nice hotel

We spent an extended weekend in Aschaffenburg and stayed at the Hotel Dalberg. A very nice, family-run hotel right in the old town. Everything very accessible and centrally located.
The rooms were friendly and cozy. Everything you need.
Breakfast was really awesome. Very rich and the best eggs (who gets good soft-boiled eggs to the point these days! ) and scrambled eggs with sock, sparkling wine, rice with sugar and cinnamon !, fish, cereal, fresh fruit... everything there!
We felt very comfortable and will definitely not have been to this hotel and in Aschaffenburg for the last time!
Thumbs up !!!

Central and comfortable hotel

We booked a three-night stay at Hotel Dalberg, which is located in the centre of Aschaffenburg, within walking distance of the railway station. Our Deluxe Double Room (qualified as ‘Business Double’ in another document) was located on the second floor facing the quiet Pfaffengasse and offered a view of a rather awful contemporary building across the street. We were a bit worried about the large restaurant outdoor area under our window, but the soundproofing of the room was good, and, in the evening, it was possible to have a drink at the restaurant, which stayed open late. We also had a mini bar with a choice of glasses, which is rather unusual. Often you have to drink your wine from a cardboard cup or a water glass these days. Instant coffee and tea were also provided. Our room wasn’t very large, but the outlay was practical. There was a good-sized desk with reasonably good reading light. The ledger we expected to provide useful information for tourists only contained a German lifestyle magazine. We had a sitting corner with a round table and two easy chairs. The bedding was good, and there were nightstands with a drawer. We were disappointed the room was carpeted. As one of us is allergic to dust, we prefer tiled or wooden floors. The bathroom was okay and had sufficient storage room, but the shower floor was dangerously slippery. The hotel website reads, ‘Upper floor accessible by elevator,’ but, in fact, the elevator stopped between two floors, and you either had to climb or descend a flight of stairs, which might be a problem for people with mobility issues. The breakfast buffet was okay. The fresh cookies available every day in the downstairs reception area were an extra bonus. All in all, a hotel we would book again if we returned to Aschaffenburg.

Quaint and Comfortable,

The hotel itself has the basic amenities that you’d expect from any hotel nowadays. The hotel is however slightly dated, and could perhaps do with replacing the dated yellow and grey bathroom towels.
A late evening arrival entails retrieving your key and checking in via the restaurant next door.
Due to reception being located on the 1st floor, away from the main entrance and stairwell, there is little to no contact made with the staff which resulted in a “ghost like” stay.
Overall nothing that would bring me back on a return trip, although the hotel itself was comfortable.

Very good location
