Enough for everything you need within a fair price

Smooth checkin, the staffs were willing to help you out. I stayed in a 4-bed female dorm, was tidy and clean. Location is just one station s-bahn from Stuttgart hbf. Overall is a nice place to stay overnight. Note: it's not so peaceful late at night, Wifi only at the first floor.

Good accommodation to stay

As the name suggests, this is a youth hostel. Anyone expecting a hotel here will be disappointed. Ideal for a simple overnight stay without much comfort. Rooms are simple but clean and functional. Towels can be borrowed for 1.50€. Shower gel or shampoo are of course not available. The breakfast was good. Value for money have suited us. The staff was friendly and helpful.

No problem for one night

Basically OK for one night. The location to the concert halls or the Canstatter Wasen is great. Rooms OK, but don't expect too much. You have to bring your own towels. On the day of arrival we received an email saying that you have to pay for an annual subscription for €22 on site. Thankfully we didn't have to when we asked. It was a bit confusing. Breakfast OK. The fan in the room was loud, louder than the trains outside. But you can't say anything about the price for one night. Staff very friendly.

Ideally suited for Necker Park if you are happy with a basic room

Classified as a Youth Hostel, if you don’t require in room facilities such as TV, Coffee making facilities, etc, then this place is ideal and is well positioned for Necker Park and about 25 min from the Mercedes Benz Arena. It is also close to transport links to the Airport, City centre and Museum areas.
The rooms are clean and have good private bathroom facilities. Breakfast is typical European fare but has something for most people.
The Wi-Fi is stated as being free in the lobby but it worked fine in our room on the 3rd floor

Beware of night club next to hostel and paper thin mattress and pillow

This just wasn't the right hostel for me and I've been to many of them all over the world. Here's why.
When I booked this place through Hihostels.com, it said:
"Please notice that we don´t have our own car park. You find parking spaces free of charge in the "Kegelenstraße"."
No private parking, but free parking in the adjacent street. But when I arrived the free parking in the Kegelenstraße is only from 10pm to 8am. Before that, it's paid parking. So I paid until 10pm. When I checked in and asked if there are checks if cars are still there at 8am, the guy behind the counter said they DO have their own parking area, which is on the corner of the Kegelenstraße and Elwertstrasse. So a waste of money. I moved my car later that night to their free parking.
The room itself had a decent size for a 4 bed dorm. There were individual lights and power points. Big plus. The problem with the bed is the mattress. It's way too thin and there's no slatted base, but a single piece of wooden board. No support at all. I felt my back after 2 nights. The pillow is way too thin. It's so thin if you lie on it, you'll be fully flat on the mattress, because the pillow has absolutely no support. This is bad for your neck. I had to fold it so get a bit of support, but it made the pillow too small. Pillows with a good amount of support only costs a few euros at IKEA folks.
Then there's the bathroom. The shower is one of those you would find in campgrounds: you have to press the button every 10 seconds to get water. The rail where the shower head hangs on to, was broken. A large metal protection ring had come off and was slamming to the wall. Housekeeping had never seen this? Reported it at checkout of course.
Then there's the noise. Apparently there was a concert at Club Cann (which is in the adjacent building) that lasted till 10.30pm. After 10.30pm people started hanging and yelling outside the hostel, under our window. The concert was so loud that everything was shaking in the room. Unfortunately the subwoofers did their work and got all the way through in the room. Sleeping was impossible. I noticed a little note at the front desk, saying there was gonna be a concert, when I came back the first night from moving the car. This nuisance was not mentioned in person when I checked in. This was also not mentioned when I made the booking. If I had been aware there was a night club and concert that night, I would not have booked this place.
I loved the breakfast. Lots of choices, fresh bread and warm boiled eggs.
Slow wifi with 2mbps.
This hostel can make some really easy improvements regarding the mattress and pillows and informing guests the correct way about parking and concerts/events in the night club.
