Fantastic!! To be redone

From the first step inside the Marathon Hostel to the last farewell, it was a wonderful experience. I haven't slept this well or felt this at peace in a hostel for a long time. The room was spotless, and the staff was friendly and professional. Everything works wonderfully at the Marathon Hostel, and I hope to return one day. Additionally, it is located in a beautiful area that seems straight out of a movie. If you are looking for a place in Genoa with a good price-quality ratio in a picturesque area, the Marathon Hostel is the right choice for you.

Too much noise.

We stayed 3 nights in this hostel. Fantastic location right next to Via XX Settembre and close to the Eastern Market. Rooms are quite spacious and clean, and the staff is friendly.
The downside is that the hostel is noisy, with people talking loudly in the hallways even at night; the hostel has a pub on the ground floor that hosts events. My room was above the pub, and for two nights we slept after one o'clock because one night there was live music and another night karaoke. Now, we can tolerate the chatter of people, but not the music with amplifiers. Moreover, the rooms were not soundproof at all; you could even hear a set of keys being placed from one room to another.

The environment is too "noisy"....

I am reviewing dinner on a May evening. There was too much noise when young people were in the hostel and all dining inside; we were outside, and they kept coming out to smoke and make noise. Good hamburger, but the pizza selection was too limited.....the waiters were kind. Rather expensive.

The perfect stay:)

Stayed for one night, could have stayed all week. Great staff great facilities great location and great beer. 5/5. Close to city center and great restaurants. And by the reception there is a bar, that gave os free chips with salsa and olives!

Perfect for low budget traveling (sporters)

Very friendly service and welcome. Clean rooms WITH air conditioning. Separate beds with curtain per bed for extra privacy. Outlets per bed with different inputs (USB, Italian outlet and other outlets).
Everything clear and good international breakfast. After check out I could store my suitcase (material) in the hostel for free until 10pm.
Also there is a kitchen on the 1st floor where you can cook or eat your own food, fridge to store food and drinks.
Fitness with air conditioning was great: powerlifting equipment (FINALLY!). A fitness like this you find rare in hotel and certainly in hostels (in my experience). Plenty of equipment: I myself did an extensive full body workout and trained all my muscle groups + cardio. Even after check out (11am) I was allowed to use fitness room WITH separate shower at gym with hot and nice cold water. I could also charge my smartphone while exercising. Power outlets so present in fitness. Fitness equipment is outdated and a bit rusty or stiff, BUT it works. For full fitness experience you should just go to a real gym.
At hotel you can buy some more useful things at low price like: earplugs, toothpaste, paste, pesto, condoms ;)
