Gifu Prefecture has many interesting sites to visit; Shirakawa-go village, is a UNESCO Heritage site, with quaint thatched roofed houses, Gifu castle has an extensive collection of armour and swords, watch the cormorant fishing on theNagara river, soak in the hotsprings, or watch them making swords the old fashioned way in the Seki sword museum.
