Located near Mahebourg on the South Eastern coast of Mauritius, Belle Mare is made of sparkling white sand and lush blue waters. Considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius, this is a great beach to unwind at. Unlike most touristy spots, it offers plenty of idyll despite its popularity. You can go swimming and diving, or simply soak up the sun on the sand. You can also do windsurfing, horseback riding, parasailing, kayaking and similar activities here.
Belle Mare is located on the East Coast and has one of the most impressive beaches in Mauritius. While the West Coast may have warm, shallow tropical waters, the East Coast beaches tend to have a deeper, slightly cooler sea and lots of fun waves to body surf on. Having grown up in Perth in Australia with the fantastic beaches of Cottesloe and City Beach, I definitely prefer a my seas to be more active rather than languid. The weather is the main difference between the East Coast and the rest of the island. The best time to visit is between March through to November, but watch out for July and August as it can be cooler and a bit more windy than the rest of the island. The best places to stay? I recommend Lux Belle Mare, Long Beach or Le Tousserok resorts, but if you’ve come into some money then checkout Beau Rivage or Le Saint Geran. Where ever you stay the service will be sublime, the food is sublime (seafood and curries in abundance) and the beaches are stunning.
wonderful place with amazing beach
