the City is not bad but nothing special, Special is the museum of the comunits victims "Memorialul Victimelor Comunismului și al Rezistenței" in the Center of the city.
This village is the largest in the peaceful northwest corner of Romania known as "Maramures." However, I strongly encourage to visit, walking is the best way to smaller towns such as Vadu Izei, Sapanta,Barsana Sarbi, Botiza . . . walking lends to the quiet feel of the lovely valley with its sloping hills and old-time traditions which are very much kept alive today. Make sure you notice the impressive wooden churches and ornate mammoth ornate carved wooden gates in front of homes. The place has a feeling of "time standing still" and find it very special
