Good location for WEF

I went during Jan, to participate in WEF. The location was a swift 15 minutes' walk from the event location and to promenade shops. The rooms were very spacious, with good amenities, and had a working kitchen included, which was very helpful for me considering the busy schedule and unknown in/out times.
There were few short comings;
- No restaurant, you have to depend on nearby places (there were good ones)
- Poor Wi-Fi, it was available for quick messaging, but no bandwidth beyond that
- Reception counter was not manned, which was not a problem, but was still odd
The hotel is a 10 min walk from Davos dorf station.

Week skiing trip February 2022

So I stayed in room 406 on the 4th floor up in the gods the penthouse suite (silly humour). The room itself is very good compared to previous ski apartments that were rather cramped with sofa beds. This one has a normal fixed bed with a soft mattress which I like but most others may not like. The bathroom has a toilet that is of a low height but works and flushes well. Next to the toilet is either a bidet or foot washing sink I’m still not sure with a shower head no jets like a bidet. I’ve used it like an ice bath for my feet that get hammered after a days off piste skiing. There’s a bath with a shower head and curtain (nice to have a bath sometimes there’s only a small shower in some apartments) then obviously a sink & mirror that does steam up as I don’t hear an extractor fan but not an issue. There’s plenty of wardrobe space dare I say too much. The 40 inch TV has 31 English speaking channels all BBC1 HD, BBC2 HD, ITV123, C4 HD, E4, Film 4 and Channel 5 that’s often missed from the main UK channels. I like the Davos TV channel showing lift opening status on snowy days. The kitchen is good with an electric combined grill & cooker (no microwave which could have been more handy) a good sink taps with a spray function as well as normal flow (quality tap) no kettle just use the saucepan, only 1 saucepan 1 frying pan that I use as a second saucepan and all the necessary utilities. A big fridge which is nice, a toaster and a coffee machine that I don’t use (the pods cost extra CHF 1). There’s a laundry facility coin operated that I’ve not used and I’m yet to empty my bin. The reception is not regularly staffed so you do need to call when things go wrong like on Sunday the elevator broke down it was reported and fixed on Monday, my hot water & heating wasn’t working Monday morning it was reported and fixed on Monday afternoon so at least these problems are addressed and not left unfixed. The disco light I call it in my hallway flashes all the time and that bulb probably needs replacing but it works well enough and I cannot be bothered to report petty problems. There’s so many lighting options I have to remember to turn them all off and there’s a big room balcony. It’s location in Davos Dorf a 10 minute uphill walk from the train station is a great location on the main Promenade Street about an 8 minute walk to the Parsenn ski lifts and the Dischmastrasse bus stop both ways is opposite the hotel. There’s a ski boot room and ski room in the basement -1 level with just a blow heater in the corner no boot dryers. The concrete floor is good for bashing the ski boot at 45 degrees to get my ankle into the heel pocket better than the rubber matted floors that can be a fire hazard. The room key does all three doors the bedroom, the front lobby door and the ski room door but if you lose it costs CHF 120 about £100 to replace it so I’m very careful with it. There’s not much else to say I’ve probably said rather too much anyway.

Basic accommodation; Good location

Spent a week here skiing. There is a ski bus stop right outside, but it is only a 5min walk to the Parsenn funicular which takes you up to the best of the 5 ski areas. The Face apartments are a block of unserviced units with only very limited reception hours. Basically, once you have checked in, you are on your own. The furnishings are pretty spartan. That said, the units are fairly spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good. There is a 'kitchenette', with a 2 ring electric cooktop and oven, both of which worked fully, and a fridge/freezer. It was therefore perfectly possible to self-cater, and there are very good nearby supermarkets. There are only limited restaurants nearby, Davos Platz being the main area for these.

To avoid for so many reasons...

This aparthotel is not an hotel and not an appartement. There is NO blind, only extremely thin curtains, it's like sleeping outside. The bed are not comfortable and the conshions are flat. The kitchen does not contain key items (strainer, large bowls, ...even zero basics like salt). Bathroom is old and need to be repaint and (be prepared) no saop (?!). There are horrible noises suddenly popping few times a day (and early mornings). No sofa in front of the TV (remote not working!). Cars are parked in front of the hotel so that you can hardly entered this hotel! You cannot stop the heater (best way is to open the window to vool down...but extreme noises from the street...you choose). No services in the hotel. And they dont keep your luggages after checkout (10am!), you just leave them in the lobby behind the table. And finally, very expensive hotel. Will not come back, ever.
