Famous for its architecture, museums, and the soap opera with the same name, Dallas is becoming a regular feature on travellers’ USA itineraries. It’s also a shopaholic’s paradise – Dallas has more shopping centres and outlets per capita than any other US city.
Accommodation in Dallas is just as impressive, and we’ve highlighted some of our favourite neighbourhoods and hotels to make finding the best place to stay in Dallas even easier.
Downtown Dallas is the perfect neighbourhood for young families, business travellers, and avid sight-seers. It’s ideal for those that prefer being near the attractions instead of nightlife. The vibrant bar and restaurant scene, is mainly found in Uptown. Getting to and from Uptown is easy: both parts of the city are connected by the DART light rail, D-Link, and McKinney Avenue Trolley. You’ll find hotels for every need and budget in Downtown – from low-cost to luxury.
Uptown Dallas is perfect for couples, foodies, and bar lovers. This is an upmarket residential area with beautiful townhouses, art galleries, restaurants, cafes, and some bars and nightclubs. Hotel prices tend to run higher here, with many offering boutique or 5-star accommodation. Public transport options include the DART light rail, bus services, and free Uptown Trolley, all of which connect Uptown and Downtown.

It’s beautiful here and everyone is really sweet. The only issue is there’s no public transportation and you can’t walk anywhere.
the airport! The friendliest airport and easiest to use, by far. I've traveled extensively and absolutely love Dallas and the people.
Public transportation is awesome here, I NEVER have to rent a car. Tons of good restaurants and breweries. Deep Ellum is a must!
Awesome place to visit and explore some amazing food venues not to mention craft beer!
