This picturesque chocolate-box town of red tiled roofs is framed by a breath-taking mountain backdrop. A true fairytale town, be sure to admire the beauty of its castle, majestic town hall and stunning Kancijan church which looks magical against a snowy backdrop time. Explore underground tunnels, spend summer days sat by the beautiful fountain in the heart of the town or enjoy evenings spent in the theatre or cinema, in cute cafes and cosy local restaurants. This is a town lost in time and is all the more beautiful for it.
Kranj is just 13 minutes by car from Ljubljana Airport. Take Route 104 for Zgornji Brnik then take the second exit at the next two roundabouts following signs for Kranj.

This Croatian beauty still boasts remnants from its days under the Ottoman Empire with Viennese twists to a very much Croatian city. Chic bars and restaurants line elegant streets to a backdrop of spectacular Mount Medvednica that looms over the north side of the city. The exquisite medieval old town is a jumble of cobbles and winding streets that make exploring a delight as you uncover sophisticated cafes (a welcome leftover from the Empire) that give Vienna a run for their money; fabulous museums, lush green squares and beautiful Austro-Hungarian architecture. Warm summer evenings mean dining al fresco or hopping from bar to bar and club to club in hedonistic East European fashion.
Zagreb is less than two hours by car from Ljubljana Airport. Take Route 104 from the airport and merge with the A2/E61. Take exit 3 for Zagreb from the E70 and follow signs for the city centre.

Compact Ljubljana may be small but it packs a punch in terms of beauty and culture. Its beautiful old town is filled with bars and restaurants giving it the energy of a much bigger city. Its nightlife is as lively as any European city but has a wonderful Mediterranean flavour running through it. Visually, the remains of the Austro-Hungarian Empire have left a legacy of stunning architecture and mouth-watering cuisine. Film festivals, club nights and a world class art museum give Ljubljana the cultural edge while its surrounding lakes and mountains are a paradise for outdoor lovers.
It takes just 30 minutes to reach Ljubljana from the airport. Take Route 104 and merge onto the A2/E61 towards Ljubljana. Exit for the centre and continue on Route 8.
On street parking can be hard to find in Ljubljana but it is available. Parking is charged on weekdays from 8am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm and costs from €0.70 per hour with a maximum parking time of 2 hours. Outside these hours parking is free.
