Where to hire a car in Poitiers airport

Petrol stations close to Poitiers airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
The nearest petrol station is only 3km away from the airport. When exiting onto the roundabout outside the airport, take the third exit onto the D910. You will see that you’re coming up to a cross roads, turn right onto Route De Parthenay, head straight through the roundabout and take your first right onto Rue de la Demi-Lune.
Driving around Poitiers airport
Poitiers airport can be busy at times, but it’s generally easy to move around. There is one exit with one roundabout connecting you to the D910, which can take you north to Tours, or south to Bordeaux. The centre of Poitiers is easy to reach from the airport via a 10-minute car journey, and there’s a super market just up the road from Poitiers too.
Destinations to drive to from Poitiers airport
To reach the centre of Poitiers, take the first exit on the roundabout ont the D910, procede for a mile and then turn right onto Rue de Guynemer, then take the second left onto Rue Georges Guynemer. Continue until you reach a cross roads, and turn right onto Pont Achard, then turn right again onto Boulevard de Ponte-Achard. Continue until you meet the crossroads, then turn left onto Boulevard sous Blossac. You can continue straight on this road to reach north of the centre, or turn left to turn onto a back street – it really depends on where your car park is. It can be very difficult to park on the streets in Poitiers as they can be very narrow – research your options before you arrive.
Loire Valley & Tours
The Loire Valley, one of France’s most delicious and scenic wine valleys, is 2 hours north of Poitiers. To reach it, you will need to use the A10. To get onto the A10, use the third exit on the roundabout exiting the airport, and continue until you see the exit for Rocade Ouest. Continue straight, then turn left onto Rue Albin Haller. At the roundabout, continue straight, then follow the signs for the A10. This will take you straight into Tours, one of the most popular little towns in the west of France, and you’ll then want to head right outside of Tours into the Valley to reach the vineyards. The Park of the Brenne
This beautiful national park is an hour west of Poitiers. The easiest way to reach it is to use the E52 (the ring road around Poitiers) and take the exit towards the N151 (toward Bourges), then continue on the first exit on the roundabout onto the D951. Follow this road around Chauvigny, and continue into the south west of the park. There are plenty of hotels and lodges around to keep you sheltered during your stay, and they often have their own parking facilities.
Futuroscope Theme Park
This family friendly attraction is only 15 minutes north of the airport. Head north of the D910, and take the ramp for the D20. At the roundabout, take the third exit for the D20D, and at the next roundabout take the first exit for the theme park. There are parking facilities at Futuroscope.
