Walking from one end of the town centre to another takes just 15 minutes, but bus services are also available.

The Université de Poitiers is one of the oldest universities in the world. Its beautiful buildings are an attraction in themselves, along with the university’s botanical garden (Jardin Botanique Universitaire de Poitiers). The Jardin des Plantes, another botanical garden, is also located close by making this a popular area to stay in for nature lovers and those with active young families. There are only a few hotels in this area, such as the Hotel de l’Europe, making it ideal for those that favour peace over immediate proximity to the main attractions. Bus services are available or, alternatively, the Old Town is less than a 5-minute stroll from this area.
