There are two airports in Belfast – George Best Belfast City Airport and Belfast International Airport. Both are easy to reach using the Translink bus services from the city centre.

George Best Belfast City Airport

Belfast City Airport is just three miles from the city centre. Most flight routes are between Belfast and the rest of the UK. There are some seasonal flights to holiday destinations such as Alicante, Faro and Palma de Mallorca. Most flights are short-haul.

Belfast International Airport

Belfast International Airport is slightly further away at 13 miles from the city centre. This is Ireland's second-busiest airport, second only to Dublin Airport in terms of traffic. Long, short and medium haul flights are available from this airport.

Getting to Belfast City Airport

George Best Belfast City Airport sits just off the A2, Sydenham Bypass road and is easy to reach by car. There's a shuttle bus service between the airport and Sydenham Train Station. Another option is the Airport Express 600 Service from Europa Bus Station in the city centre.

Getting to Belfast International Airport

The airport is located off the A57, just off junction 5 of the M2 motorway. The Airport Express 300 bus travels between the airport and the Europa Bus Station in central Belfast.

Belfast Airport facilities

You should always aim to get to the airport at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure. If you get through security quickly you'll have a bit of time on your hands – but Belfast's airports have a few facilities where you can spend your time.

Belfast City Airport

This small airport has free Wi-Fi throughout the terminal, and an Aspire Lounge that any airport customer can use for a fee. There's also a British Airways lounge exclusively for BA passengers.

Belfast International Airport
