Hotels in Pula

Pula is the largest city in the Istria region of Croatia, and it sits on the tip of the peninsula facing the Adriatic. The city is surrounded with green hills, vineyards and a calm blue ocean, which makes it excellent for country retreats, whereas Pula itself has been an administrative capital since Roman times, and is decked in ancient architecture.

City Centre

Pula’s ‘Old Town’ is effectively in the north of the city centre, where you can also find the ampitheatre, Valerijin Park and the main train station. In the north-east, you’ll find a few bars and pubs, whereas if you head to the south you’ll be met by Pula’s glittering marina. If you head further south again, you’ll be able to find some of the best restaurants and shops in the city, as well as hotels facing the waterfront. There are also affordable apartments and guesthouses in the north of Pula.

Zlatne Stijene & Veruda Marina

The Veruda marina is littered with boutique hotels and affordable apartments, perfect for couples on a weekend away. This is a beautifully green and picturesque area, with a handful of cocktail bars and seafood restaurants to keep you happy too.

Croatia isn’t known for it’s white sandy beaches, but the small bays around Medulin might appease the fussiest of beach bums. The marina here is surrounded by calm blue water, only to be disturbed by the odd fishing boat or sailing yacht coming in from a day on the Adriatic. The camping grounds here are great for families on a relaxed vacation, whereas the hotels offer a few more creature comforts for travellers looking to explore Pula.
