When I was planning our trip to Switzerland I kept hearing that we shouldn't go to Zermatt. "it's touristy" "it's not as charming as other Swiss towns". I'm so glad I didn't listen to those people. We loved Zermatt and can't wait to go back one day. Yes, it's expensive and touristy, but it's this way for a reason. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been and seeing the Matterhorn in person is indescribable. While you're in Switzerland, you can always visit one of the smaller Alpine towns by train.
Most amazing quaint little town with the most amazing views of The Matterhorn.
Fantastic resort town in the Swiss alps along the Italian border. Some of the very best skiing in the world and undoubtedly the most scenic. Fantastic and not as expensive as you might fear.
Zermatt at the base of the Matterhorn, is the epitome of beautiful swiss mountain villages. Wake up every morning to spectacular views of the Matterhorn. Take the cable car of the train up one of several mountains and ski amongst postcard scenery to your hearts content. Its a magic place.
