The style of this place is special. Personal, classy, oldfashioned mixed with the hipster vegan health food restaurant downstairs is just what i like. Thanks!

Unfortunately, a huge disappointment

Unfortunately, a huge disappointment – this hotel is definitely not worth the price.
We spent almost a week at this hotel and, unfortunately, with each passing day we became more and more disappointed. We had booked a standard room with a large bed, but it was already clear upon arrival that the hotel had seen much better days. For this price, you can easily find much better and more modern places to stay.
The entire property is in need of a complete renovation. It looks like a hotel that may have been impressive several decades ago, but nowadays it is simply outdated and neglected.
The biggest absurdity was the bathroom with a glass wall. This solution is completely incomprehensible – there is practically no privacy at all. I cannot imagine anyone considering such a design comfortable in a room for two people.
The bed was another major disappointment. The mattress was extremely soft and uncomfortable; you literally sank into it. At the end of our stay – something I regret not doing earlier – I checked the condition of the pillows after removing the pillowcases. What I saw was truly unacceptable: the pillows were completely yellowed and clearly needed to be replaced.
Since we stayed for several days, we asked for fresh towels. To our surprise, the staff member commented that the towels were dirty and that there would be a problem washing them. This was the first time I experienced a situation where a hotel guest was practically blamed for using towels for several days. That is exactly what a hotel laundry service is for – towels should be washed after use, not commented on.
The very steep stairs were also a major problem, making it difficult to carry suitcases. For people with larger luggage or mobility issues, this could be a serious inconvenience.
The garage was another downside – it was very narrow, uncomfortable to manoeuvre in, and difficult to exit by car. Additionally, it looked more like a storage area than a professional parking facility, with various items stored everywhere.
Regarding breakfast – the food itself was good, but the organisation left a lot to be desired. We had a specific time slot, yet everything still took a very long time. Even basic drinks had to be ordered separately and we had to remind staff about simple things. The restaurant area also looked neglected and untidy – there were various items everywhere, which created an impression of poor cleanliness and lack of attention to detail.
To sum up: the food was acceptable, but everything else was far below the standard one would expect for this price. The hotel feels like a place frozen in time, requiring significant investment and renovation.
I do not recommend it. For a similar price, you can find many better, more modern and, above all, much better-maintained hotels.

Felt very uneasy

Horrible B&B. Charged €15 to put our bike in a garage. Alistair polite but it would help if he smiled sometimes. Seemed surly. Room spacious but en suite was just a section with a glass wall and door didn't shut. No privacy in toilet. Not clean. I don't think they take any pride in the B&B side of things. Tiles in shower dirty, the grout needs a good scrub. Carpet on stairs coming away and dangerous. Windows falling apart. Sheets smelt of grease. Toilet rolls dusty and looked as though they had got wet and then dried out . No extractor fan in bathroom. Bed comfortable. Place quiet. Didn't try the food.

Cool place to stay & eat

Nice place in a good location.
Arrival, food, accommodation, departure - everything was very uncomplicated.
We couldn't have chosen a better place.
(That's all I have to say. Why does Tripadvisor ask for a long 200 characters?)

Very good location
