REMOVE THE CARPETS!

Seriously Ibis, you need to listen to your customers. The hotel has a perpetually musty smell - very unpleasant. I feel that if you take out the carpets and tile your rooms, it will make an enormous difference. Also, pay attention to cleaning in those concealed areas of the bathroom. It will make a difference. Housekeeping needs thorough training on being meticulous with their cleaning. Linen has a musty smell. Your climate is quite wet and humid so change your flooring ! Thorough drying of laundered items may also be needed.

smelly rooms

Malabo doesn't have a lot of accommodation to offer and this was the only one that fitted within my budget. The hotel supposedly offers free airport transfer but at the time of my visit, the driver was on vacation.
The room was no-frills with bare minimum amenities such as one bottle of water per day, fridge, television, safe (which in my room was broken), hair dryer (not powerful) and shampoo/shower gel.
The biggest problem with this hotel is the moldy and damp smell in the rooms which seems to have been a problem for at least a good part of 2024 (from what I can gather online). The odour was so strong that I could smell it in my clothes the day after I left the hotel!
The hotel is also quite far from the city centre and there are no dining options nearby.

Can do better... Long live the end of the work

The hotel is being renovated with a number of areas inaccessible to guests; it does not have a vending machine, but the staff is welcoming and very available. The rooms are somewhat spartan, but remain convenient.

Terrible staff

Rooms are OK but no amenities offered.
Male Staff seem to ok, but can be unhelpful.
Female staff are really rude and not helpfull what so ever. 1 staff member at check-in was chewing gum so loud I could not understand her.
Another staff Menber was on her phone when I tried to order a drink, Slammed down her phone and seemed to be really annoyed I disturbed her.
Food is pretty bland and after 5 nights stay can be very boring.
Breakfast was ok until I got charged extra for 1 fried egg.
Well be talking with my company to never book our staff in this hotel ever again
