Located on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen, the family-run Hotel Granitz offers comfortable rooms in the town of Binz. It is just 300 metres from the beach and it is 100 metres to the Binnensee Lake.

Relaxing and ideal location.
Our room was ready upon arrival and located on the second floor. We had my sister's dog with us and it was not a problem at all. The staff answered all of our questions about the surrounding area(s). They were very friendly! The hotel has parking directly behind it and you have to put a placard in your windshield to let them know you are a guest. The hotels location couldn't be any better! You walk directly across the street and you have many restaurants to chose from and then the beach/pier is right in front of you! I highly recommend Hotel Granitz! If I were ever in the area again, this is the only place I would consider.
My only complaint is our room faced the road and it was a little noisy. We also got the morning sun and the curtains were not thick enough to block the light...and it gets bright early!

Spare yourself this horror stay
It was the absolute horror.
Totally dirty room with broken floor.
After 3 prompts I was allowed to show where to vacuum (was not to be overlooked if you have a minimum of cleanliness).
Afterwards it was explained to me that 1 hour ago they were already sucking, the gummy bear of the previous visitors, but was still there.

Once and never again. If you want to avoid disappointment, book somewhere else. Hotel Granitz is not a hotel.
We were looking forward to a relaxing weekend in Binz. The “hotel” is a disaster. The reception staff speaks neither German nor English. Communication is extremely difficult. Although it was advertised on the portals, breakfast was not available. We were asked to go to a bakery about 250m away .
Reception not manned during the day. Door is locked. No drinks available in the “hotel”. WiFi does not work in the rooms. No room cleaning or towel change, bathroom equipment incomplete (no hairdryer, few towels). Electrical installation poor. Socket cover broken in the bathroom, one socket in the room is completely missing. Room entrance door completely warped (2 cm gap to the hallway). There is an Indian restaurant attached to the hotel, which opens from about 5 p.m. . The only positive thing is the parking lot behind the building.

We had expected more!
The hotel has low standard with chairs and tables that were broken. The balcony floor was made of dry wooden boards from which we got sticks in our feet. We stayed at the hotel for four nights, never got cleaned even though we asked for it. We had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper.

Don't complain!
We stayed in room 101, a small room. No problem for us but the bathroom was also very small. Iff you opened the door you must turn around it, close it and than you can use the toilet... And of course a small bathroom has a small shower. Till so far we could live with. On our bed a wintercomforter. We stayed here on 22 may, outside 28 degrees. We asked for a summercomforter at 4 pm. "We will look after it" At 8 pm we asked for the owner... now its to late sorry and only shrug!! We are a small hotel we don't have others. Normally there should be a blanket we were unlucky.... Than during the night, there is a big lamp outside on the roof wich shines through the curtains. Wasn't any good... Breakfast was good and room 101 has a very large balcony for those who love it.
