Highly recommended.
We were traveling with friends and had a very nice time. We are repeat offenders and like to come back every year. Room top, 2 floor very elaborate, modern renovated in country style, new breakfast room and reception. Staff as always nice, friendly and accommodating. If you are a friend of good cuisine, you should definitely visit the restaurant.

Enjoyment evening - with all your senses
For the evening of enjoyment, I came from Leipzig without knowing anything and trusting my parents, who are already regular guests at the Thuringian Hof. Of course, I was already there for dinner and it always tasted great, but the evening of enjoyment on Friday, November 7, 2025 should be a very special highlight.
We were personally received by the boss of the house and escorted to our table. The decoration on the square was autumnally creative, elaborate, loving, with an eye for detail and in the mood for a top-class gourmet evening.
Even the boss did not miss the opportunity to personally greet us at the table. From the very beginning, all this conveyed a family atmosphere as the background noise of the event.
Of course, the menu was the focus of the evening and it left nothing to be desired or any indication of criticism. From the variations of pumpkin and fine poultry, to a fennel orange foam soup with scallops, cod fillet on ebly, iced and smoked celery, to the saltimbocca with arancini on paprika zucchini ragout, everything was deliciously prepared, every course a true palate tickle and a top product of creative haute cuisine.
And last but not least, a sweet duet of mango, pots and ice cream rounded off this feast.
The menu alone would make the enjoyment evening just such, but of course the right wines must not be missing with the dishes.
Tobias Mayr from the winery of the same name in Minichhofen on the Weinviertler Weinstraße in Lower Austria was responsible for this. The wines were perfectly selected with the food, were zesty young to full-bodied. From Riesling to red Veltin, a special rarity.
Tobias Mayr knew how to tell interesting and interesting things about his wines and combine them with the enjoyment of the product.
The evening was rounded off by the confectioner's eloquently charming, humorous and no-answer misplaced way of accompanying us from course to course.

Thuringian Welcoming?
We have chosen this holiday in Thuringia to experience the Thuringian Welcoming first hand. After all, the hotel advertises exactly this formulation. Unfortunately, we missed them. We arrived at around 2:00 p.m. and got the key in our hands at the reception with the words "I'm done now." We have not been committed by any person in any way. After 2 days we asked the hotel manager if there was still a guest card for us, which we also received.
The hotel complex is designed with great love. The sauna is a highlight. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. When visiting the restaurant in the evening we would have expected a lighter cuisine at over 30° C.
The hotel is a good starting point for numerous activities.
However, the internet-listed minibar in the comfort room "Nesselberg" is searched for in vain, important for travelers who need to keep their medication cool.
The hotel complex is designed with great love. The sauna is a highlight. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. When visiting the restaurant in the evening we would have expected a lighter cuisine at over 30° C.

Best accommodation on our Rennsteigtour
We stayed one night during our via ferrata hike here and regret very much that we did not stay longer. The Thuringian Hof is a wonderful regional activity and recreation hotel. Directly behind the house, hiking trails and cycle track start up to the Rennsteig and the Ebertswiese. Everything in the house looks very new and well maintained, we had a wonderful stay. Family-run, lively and nice staff, from boss to trainee. The restaurant offers wonderful Thuringian cuisine – really blatantly hearty who likes, but also fresh salads and lots of vegetables. Breakfast was a highlight of our hike, cereal, fresh fruit, various rolls, with cold meats, various jams and honeys and delicious tea and coffee. We will definitely come back.

Nice, calm & welcoming Hotel with pleasant Restaurant
My husband and I have stayed 3 times within the last 2 years in this charming family hotel in a little calm village in Germany in the Thüringer Wald, near the nice town of Schmalkalden and fairly close to Eisenach.
The hotel is clean, the rooms are calm, spacious and well equiped with a sober decoration. One can feel a welcoming atmosphere created by the owner family who ensures personally that their clients are well looked after to enjoy a pleasant stay.
At the restaurant with its friendly service, one can choose either the bistro type atmosphere at the "Gaststube" or the traditional restaurant with its slighty cosier setting. Both serve the same nice fresh selective cuisine with traditional German as well as European dishes and propose a good selection of drinks and nice wines.
The hotel is clean, the rooms are calm, spacious and well equiped with a sober decoration. One can feel a welcoming atmosphere created by the owner family who ensures personally that their clients are well looked after to enjoy a pleasant stay.
