A good choice in Hiraizumi

Stayed here for one night in November 2025. Note that this is a Ryokan style hotel with futons and not bed.
Pros:
1) The hotel is about 5 to 10 minute walk away from the train station. Close enough for people with light luggage.
2) The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous.
3) Chusonji is about 30 minutes walk away and Motsuji is right next door.
4) There are some eateries close to the station.
5) The tariff is reasonable.
6) The WIFI is free and the speed and connectivity is good.
7) The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, comfortable and of adequate size.
8) The place is quiet at night and sleep quality is good.
Cons:
1) There are no convenient stores nearby. The closest is over 30 minutes walk away.

a lovely Ryokan at Hiraizumi

Location is just between Hiraizumi station and Motsuji temple; 5 minutes each direction, a very comfortable locations for those traveling by public transportation. We had a car and had a parking place at the Ryokan.
The owner is very nice, She gives tips on surrounding places and tries to address our needs.
Our spacious tatami room was on the second floor of the annex building, and had bathroom, heater, TV, and refrigerator. Clean and lovely. We could also use the large bath on the ground floor. Wifi was only at the lobby but that was not an issue.
Breakfast is Japanese style and is very nice.

An ok place to stay for a night

The hotel is not that great but works of you need to stay in town for a night. Our room was clean although there was a funny smell there, probably from the tatamis. The breakfast was quite nice and the staff is friendly and helpful.

リーズナブルに宿泊できます

平泉にある、リーズナブルに宿泊できるお宿です。玄関から少し離れた広いお部屋と、玄関から階段を上がってすぐの狭めのお部屋、両方に宿泊したことがありますが、広いお部屋のほうが過ごしやすかったです。お手洗いはリフォームされたようで綺麗でした。共用のお風呂は昔ながらのお風呂という感じです。女将さんはとても親切で、子連れでも温かくしてくださいました。

庶民的な旅館

１０名のグループで宿泊。当初の予約では、６名は２間続きの和室となってたが、到着してみると、その部屋はふさがっており、２室に分散となり、夕食後小宴会を予定していたのでちょっと残念。平日ということもあり、若女将が一人で切り盛りしているようで、なにかと時間がかかるのが気になった。朝食は、和食中心で用意されてたが、ヨーグルト等もついていて料金の割には、良心的。毛越寺まで徒歩３分と立地条件はベスト。平泉駅にも近い、１０人乗りのワゴン車も楽々駐車出来た。
