An extraordinary experience

We were lucky enough to stay at the Somerville Hotel for almost two weeks in June 2026. Even though the prices aren’t exactly cheap, our stay was more than worth every penny!
This was mainly down to the hotel’s atmosphere, which is characterised on the outside by its Swiss chalet-style architecture, and on the inside by a wonderful combination of modern and Victorian country house styles. The location, with views over the bay and the harbour of St Aubin, the beautifully laid-out garden and terrace area, and the very well-maintained pool complex all contribute to the wonderful atmosphere. Sitting by the large glass windows in the lounge area at ‘tea time’, whilst enjoying the view across the bay as far as St Helier, is a truly unique experience.
Last but not least, the incredibly friendly and consistently attentive staff deserve a special mention – from reception, through room service, the bar, pool and lounge areas, right through to the restaurant. Everywhere you go, the Somerville team is attentive and exceptionally friendly!
Breakfast is very extensive and consists of an Intercontinental buffet and various versions of the English breakfast and egg dishes, which can be selected à la carte, ranging from the ‘Full English Breakfast’ to ‘Eggs Benedict’ and vegetarian/vegan options.
In short: the Somerville Hotel may not be cheap, but it offers an extraordinary and unique experience – in the best possible sense!

Fantastic holiday in the Sommerville hotel

This hotel is in a great location with fantastic views. As soon as you arrive the staff are so attentive and go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. They are all a true credit to the manager. Food in the hotel is of a very high quality and is delicious, the views from the restaurant over St Aubins bay are fabulous. The bedrooms are cosy but have everything you need and the hotel is spotless. We will certainly be returning for another holiday. One thing I would like to see is a small fridge/cooler in the bedrooms as standard.

Exploration of island

Great hotel to use as a base for exploring the island, though it has a great pool area and is close to the seafront on St Aubin if you're not out and about. Relatively close to major bus routes. The restaurant is high quality and the bar is well stocked. Staff were great quality.

The Somerville Hotel St Aubin

We have 2 days left of our 11 night holiday and therefore it is a good time to review the Somerville, specifically so as we will certainly be returning, as it seems many people do.
The weather was hot whilst we were away and the pool facilities outside were clean and cool, the facility is very well looked after, aside from the beach the pool was a godsend.
The hotel has fantastically well trained staff but what cant be trained is the human touch we all crave, especially when we are on well deserved holidays.
From the hotel manager through all of the staff everyone was so happy and attentive and always helpful, a true credit all of them.
The food, cleanliness, facilities are all excellent and in such a great location.
You really will not go wrong with the Somerville, fabulous place to stay.
