Excellent hotel

I think this is the best choice for Sortland the common areas of the hotel are nicely decorated and very pleasant, especially the restaurant with nice windows overlooking the sea. Here you also serve the really hearty breakfast. Our room was very spacious, with fridge, kettle, a sofa, a nice comfortable bed and a nice view. Large bathroom with shower. All very clean. Very helpful staff.

Bad customer service

I booked a stay for July by mistake instead of June. When I complained about this, the hotel refused to discuss it. They simply referred me to the terms and conditions, which they had never provided to me. They deliberately had a different person communicate with me each time, and when I requested the terms and conditions, they again referred me to another email address.
Their customer service is terrible and inconsiderate. I should note that this was a one-night stay for three people.
Their desire for money is stronger than their own reputation and their customers.
If this customer service is part of the corporate culture of the entire Scandic Hotels group, I will definitely avoid them.

A pleasant stay for 2 nights

Scandic Sortland is a moden building and is situated at the waterside . It is pleasant and comfortable and serves a great selection of food. Scandic breakfasts are renowned.
My only criticism is the lack of hanging space in the bedroom and a lack of hooks in the bathroom

Perfect stay in Vesteralen - Scandic Sortland

Scandic Sortland is a truly wonderful hotel. With wonderfully well-trained and helpful staff, a relaxed and very cosy central social space centred around a lovely fireplace, it is the height of Vesteralen and Norwegian hospitality. The rooms are lovely with fantastic sea views. The hotel sauna floating in the harbour is a must if you are staying. The restaurant serves delicious food. Attached to the hotel is a wonderful adventure company that can arrange sea eagle rib trips, kayaking, walking and other outdoor adventures. This makes for a perfect holiday. My husband and I had a great sray and can highly recommend Scandic Sortland. Individually managed, this hotel has charm and personality alongside wonderful facilities. Do stay! Linda and Stan Abbott

Fixed guest since startup

I have been a guest there every summer since they opened. I'm going to continue with that. Fantastic location and views from the restaurants and rooms with sea views then. Cozy bar inside and out with gas fireplace. Easily accessible parking is a plus. The restaurant is good, except for vegetarian. Dog friendly is also a plus. Good standard in the rooms. They were probably also here undercrewed in the kitchen so long waiting that annoyed many, but the staff stood up as best they could.
