A great place to explore the Sacred Valley
I am writing this review about the Valle Sagrada hotel and the staff rather than the central Explora administration, booking and website with which we had a number of issues.
The hotel has wonderful views, is spotless and all the staff are very friendly. The rooms are of a modern design, there is heating to use and you did need to use it at points. The bathroom was slightly peculiar in that we had a large jet bath but no amenities eg, shampoo etc provided as these were bolted to the shower room wall, did not really encourage you to use it. Light switches inside the shower room were slightly concerning. They are missing some standard usb sockets etc but there are plugs for adaptors.
Hot water is provided for tea, and a bottle of cold water to drink. I would ask that more than one bottle of water is provided in the rooms each day, just because the air is so dry and in the middle of the night, it’s hard to get up and go and refill your water bottles.
Despite what the website says you do have WiFi in all areas of the hotel including bedrooms, which was great if only to send photos home of the wonderful places we saw.
The food was very good, mostly Peruvian locally sourced, there is a bar menu as well with some hamburgers and pizza plus a kids menu. The restaurant staff were always on hand and enthusiastic about the service. The guys in the bar were great and happy to talk.
The explorations were all excellent, the guides all very good and knowledgeable as well as patient especially at high altitudes. We felt well looked after in all experiences. The groups are generally small and really well managed.
The food provided for full day trips was fantastic and some of the places we stopped to enjoy it were awe inspiring.
I would like to thank Maria the Customer Services Director who sorted out a few administrative issues for us extremely quickly and efficiently. This is our third time at an Explora and she definitely helped us realise we really want to go again.
Overall we had a great time at the hotel, a wonderful place in the Valle Sagrada to have as a base to explore.

The place is beautiful! Integrated culture and sustainability. Very comfortable, great food, very friendly and attentive staff. The tours offered are well organized and with experienced guides. I loved it!

★★★★★ A True Sacred Valley Experience
Explora Valle Sagrado was one of the most impressive properties we have ever experienced and an absolute highlight of our trip to Peru.
The setting is breathtaking. Surrounded by the beauty of the Sacred Valley, the property feels peaceful, luxurious, and completely immersed in nature. It was the perfect place to acclimate to the altitude while exploring the region.
One of our favorite experiences was the stargazing program. Seeing the night sky in the Sacred Valley was unforgettable and something we highly recommend to future guests.
The food was excellent throughout our stay. We especially appreciated that the dinner menu changed each evening, keeping the experience fresh and giving us the opportunity to enjoy a variety of dishes. The spa was also fantastic and a wonderful way to relax after a day of sightseeing.
What impressed us most, however, was the level of service. After checking out, we realized we had accidentally left some personal belongings behind. The team went above and beyond to coordinate getting them delivered to our next hotel in Cusco. We know that may not always be possible, but the effort and care they showed was truly exceptional and speaks volumes about the hospitality at Explora.
One thing future travelers should know is that Explora also offers an impressive selection of excursions and experiences directly through the property, making it a true one-stop destination for exploring the Sacred Valley. We had already arranged most of our excursions through our travel advisor before arriving, but the offerings looked outstanding and the stargazing experience we participated in was excellent.
The only thing to note is that getting there can be a bit of a journey, with some winding and bumpy roads along the way. Once you arrive, however, you’ll quickly realize it is more than worth it.
If you’re visiting the Sacred Valley, we cannot recommend Explora highly enough. Beautiful property, exceptional service, great food, wonderful excursions, and an unforgettable setting.

Wonderful Stay!!!
We stayed at Explora for three nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The lodge was beautiful, the service was outstanding, and everyone made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The food was excellent, and every aspect of the experience exceeded our expectations. We have nothing but positive things to say about Explora and would definitely return. Highly recommended!

Excellent environment, rooms and location. I will recommend it again and the guides were good and flexible. We saw more than planned. The atmosphere was very friendly and helpful.
