Recomendable 100%

Camino Stay 2019

We stayed here on our recent Camino pilgrimage. It’s an old house that has been renovated. There are several private rooms with 2 or 3 beds. Ours had 1 single and a bunk bed. Room was quite small for 3 people. Bathroom/shower was nice. WiFi was on/off so don’t rely on it. Stairs up/down just in case that is an issue. Dinner and breakfast were just ok. Small town so not many options.

Pros and Cons

I stayed one night during my hike on the Camino de Santiago. The albergue is easy to find in this small community because there are plenty of signs to direct you to its location off the main street. The albergue is an old home that has been converted. It has a pleasant common/dining area, a self-service washer and dryer (fee for using), and three shared bathrooms. I only used the upstairs bathroom, which is spacious and modern. The owner is friendly and helped locate a bag I’d sent on ahead but had been delivered to the wrong albergue. There was no outside noise to deal with during sleeping hours. There are two reasons for the 2-star rating. First, the pillow/pillowcase on my bed smelled like it hadn’t been laundered in some time, which made me suspicious of the bed linens in general. I did wonder if the owners had used a detergent without fragrance to wash the sheets, but the towel I used smelled quite clearly of detergent, so I just wasn’t willing to trust that the sheets were clean. I used my sleeping bag instead.
The second reason for the rating was the breakfast. I’d asked the owner about the availability of gluten-free bread. There wasn’t any, but he told me that there would be ham, cheese, and yogurt in addition to the usual bread, coffee, and juice. There was neither ham nor cheese, so my expectations of a more substantial breakfast weren’t fulfilled. I would hope that the management could provide accurate information to the guests.

.Buen Camino

Penoso

Vergonzoso me parece.
