Lovely Room

Would have given 5 stars as the room was lovely, had a great meal and all the staff were very friendly and helpful but there was no WiFi in the room so could not watch the TV or use IPads.

Wonderful but next time won’t arrive on busy Saturday evening

Arrival early Saturday evening may not have been the best timing. Pub quite busy, no-one behind bar so took a while to be checked in & landlady a bit brusque. Plus they didn’t appear to have table booking I’d made though that wasn’t a problem. After that everything was great, including landlady next morning. Room was clean & comfortable though tea making facilities in lounge upstairs & taps in bathroom downstairs was a bit inconvenient. Food was delicious. My fish pie had loads of big bits of salmon in it & my OH was outfaced by the amount of meat in the steak and ale pie. Breakfast equally good - & again OH outfaced with amount of food in his full English.

Great start to Leeds castle and Dover trip

Phil (service)and Oscar (chef) made this the best start to our trip to Leads Castle! The English breakfast was amazing – we got the vegetarian, eggs Benedict was beautiful and the toast with marmalade and strawberry jam was stupendous. Phil made us feel right at home and even gave us some background about the location and some of the history about the building pre-and post renovation! If you’re in the area, this is a must stop not only for breakfast but for the atmosphere.
